Still everything they offer on those unsupported devices is listed as 4k with DV/DA etc.
Max does the same thing. As in lists the show as 4K with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos yet with a disclaimer about level of subscription and equipment capabilities.

I have mixed thoughts on this though. If I have a lowered subscription it can inform me of benefits of higher subscription. At same time it can also let me know I am watching an inferior stream.

I was getting a lot of streaming freeze ups during the Miami/Kansas City game.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

You can still get full 4K/DV/HDR10 via the ATV4K but since Peacock hasn't updated their app, you have to manually go into the ATV4K's video settings and manually select whichever 4K viewing option it is in. It's annoying, but that's a workaround if you have the ATV4K.

MAX had this issue initially when they dropped the HBO from the title. It was around the time Shazam 2 premiered on there. They eventually fixed a couple of weeks later.

Peacock reportedly added 2.8M new subscribers when the exclusive NFL playoff game aired a few weeks ago.

How many of those will stay beyond 1 month is another story. I'm going to assume that way more than half will likely drop it after a month.

I imagine Netflix getting Raw is going to be a big blow to Peacock... I mean they didn't carry Raw live but I have to imagine WWE getting in bed with their competitor right before the deal is up isn't a good sign for them keeping the content they have.

I wonder how many of those sign ups were people that didn't realize they get it free or discounted through Xfinity until they went to sign up. I kind of ignored it for a while before finally signing up through Xfinity a couple years back, but then they stopped making it free (I think I pay $3 a month now through them). I noticed that it's still free if I go to a high speed service, so that's something I may consider.

It might actually help Peacock. There's going to be many new viewers to Raw and they're going to want to watch the Peacock exclusive pay per views events that the weekly Raws lead up to each month.

That works... until the Peacock deal ends in March 2026 and WWE can move their full library & PLEs to Netflix.

I know this forum isn't the audience for the Trolls franchise. But the newest movie comes to Peacock on March 15

Did Peacock just un-renew (aka cancel)The Ark? It was summarily deleted from My Stuff today and no longer appears in Search.

It's a Syfy show and the streaming license on Peacock seems to have expired. Season 2 on Syfy is still coming later this year. Sorry you didn't watch it in time.

Dean Devlin’s production company owns the show. Not NBC or Universal. Looks like the only “Free” place to get it is Hoopla. The free library streaming service.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

I asked Dean Devin, the EP of The Ark, on X what happened to the show on Peacock. He said to get it from the SyFy app or you can purchase the episodes. Obviously the SyFy app doesn’t help those who don’t have a live TV streaming service or cable.

But as I said yesterday, it’s on the Hoopla app if you have access to it.

Edit: Looks like The Ark is not on the SyFy app.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Doesn’t NBCU own Syfy too? Given that NBCU doesn’t own the show, the fact that they’re removing The Ark from both Peacock and Syfy looks a lot like a preparatory move to cancel. It doesn’t seem to be in anybody’s interest to keep season 1 off the air for a likely 6+ months, that’s a great way to kill interest in season 2, assuming NBCU still intends to air it. We know independently produced shows are much more aggressively canceled these days, recall what Syfy did to Dark Matter.

The Ark isn't on Electric Now either, but After The Ark is.
