Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

New annoyance with this piece of shit app. Pausing something causes it to go back 1-2 minutes in whatever I am watching. I can't believe they thought this app was better than the HBO Max app.

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

Does it go back as soon as you first pause or when you hit pause again to resume? Mine works fine but I'm on a Fire Stick.

I'm having this right now watching Flash on my Roku sound bar. Hit pause come back and hit Play and it takes me back to the same scene where I hit pause earlier.

Yep. Having the same issue on the Roku MAX app. Noticed it the other day.

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

Me too! Just happened while watching The Flash on the Roku MAX app. Paused it once about 15 minutes in. Continued watching and then paused it again about 90 minutes in. When I tried to continue, it took me back to that earlier pause point. Weird.

Hm, sounds like a Roku app issue then. I tried it on my Fire TV Stick, and it works fine.

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

They should not have messed with the previous Roku interface. All they had to do was rebrand it. The app does have the glitches that have been mentioned. Also, what I have experienced is when I visit the "Warrior" page, the artwork does not show up. It's a blank screen that you have to scroll down to locate the episodes tab.

The other thing I don't like is how they ditched the bonus features for some of the movies that had them. And I don't like how they present new releases and how they present movies that are leaving at the end of the month. It's hard to keep track.

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

Special 2 month promo with some AMC+ content being available on Max

A slew of series from AMC Networks including Fear The Walking Dead, A Discovery of Witches and Killing Eve will stream on Max as part of an unusual digital arrangement.

AMC Networks and Warner Bros. Discovery have struck a deal for a “programming pop-up” that will see more than 200 episodes of seven titles will launch on Max, formerly known as HBO Max.

The shows will be available from September 1 through October 31.

Titles available are seasons one through seven of Fear the Walking Dead, three seasons of A Discovery ofWitches, four seasons of Killing Eve, season one of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, two seasons of Gangs of London, season one of Dark Winds, and five seasons of Ride with Norman Reedus.

The shows will be available on both the ad-free and ad-lite Max services for no extra cost. They will be part of the AMC+ Picks on Max rail on the service and will not include advertising.

Still can’t get audio to play correctly since the max switch. Maybe I’ll try it on my ps5.

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

My Max subscription is scheduled to renew on September 11th.

I'm curious, Is or has anyone renewed for the Ultimate Ad-Free plan that is $199? I'm just wondering if anyone thinks it's worth the extra $50 from the regular Ad-Free plan.

Do you think paying the extra $50 for 4K for the year is worth it? That seems to be the real big difference.

My subscription also renews at the end of September and if I remember correctly, they're giving me a $50 discount to renew for the year. $149.99. I do believe the 4K is worth paying for. I mean, it is for me.

Unfortunately a very limited selection from AMC+, nothing on my list is included. Still waiting for Max to pick up season 4 of Nancy Drew.

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

Yes, the amount of shows from AMC is limited as mentioned above when I posted the news.

Fear the Walking Dead has the most content, but this forum has completely fallen off on it. Gangs of London is a worthy watch, especially the 1st season, if you haven't seen it. It's "The Raid" quality action.

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

The Max app on my Apple TV consistently starts shows with subtitles turned on - I have to keep going and turning them off. Anyone else having this issue. Only has been a problem since they went from HBO Max to just Max (i.e., the new Max app).

Me too. I just make sure to have the Max app updated as much as I can.

Max’s new and leaving in Sept. Looks like they’ve added a lot of horror movies for Halloween

I don't use it that often but no issues with subtitles turning on automatically with the Apple TV. Latest tvOS 16.6 and the app updated recently.
