Re: HBO Max Warnermedia streaming service launches May 2020
I’d like to see Person of Interest, and I also saw they added Pushing Daisies, which I started but got distracted from for some reason.

Dammit! Where's the list of shows coming and going? I went to watch Ocean's 11 (1960) for the 3rd or 4th time in as many weeks last night and it was gone.

You've never seen Person of Interest? Yeah It was probably one of the best CBS dramas of the last decade and one of the very few CBS shows that actually got talked about here.
It was previously on Netflix for the last 5 plus years. Surprised it not even crossed your mind to check out. Now that it's on HBO Max, I absolutely think you should check it out.

I binged it a couple of years ago and really liked it. It starts off kind of episodic, with the good guys identifying someone new each week who is in danger and saving them. But it becomes more and more serialized over time, telling one big story. That made it a good binge show because when you finish one episode you want to watch another right away to find out what happens next.

Re: HBO Max Warnermedia streaming service launches May 2020
The entire director's cuts of the Saw collection minus Jigsaw are on HBO Max.
I started watching the 1st Saw last night, which I hadn't seen in at least 12-13 years. |

Re: HBO Max Warnermedia streaming service launches May 2020
Noticed a minor bug on HBO Max.
If you stream an alternate cut of a movie, which is an extra, the movie will not pick up where you left off in case you have to stop. It's happened to me a few times already. I tried to stream the director's cut of Saw II and stopped after 30 minutes and when I tried to resume, it started all over again. Same with when I tried the director's cut of Saw III. I guess it's because it's not the main feature? |

Re: HBO Max Warnermedia streaming service launches May 2020
Anyone know anything about this?
The CW In Talks With HBO Max To Co-Finance Original Shows The CW is reportedly in talks with HBO Max to co-finance some original shows this summer. When the first trailer for Superman and Lois hit, many were shocked by the high production value that was more in line with the DC Universe shows than what we’ve typically seen on The CW. Now that HBO Max has become the streaming home of The CWverse along with all the other shows from the network, it sounds like The CW is looking to up the budget. Deadline reports that The CW is in talks with HBO Max to co-finance original shows for this summer. The deal would allow episodes to premiere on The CW and be available on HBO Max the next day. It’s unclear if this deal will affect any of the current DC shows on The CW, or if it’s referring to a brand-new series that hasn’t been announced yet. |

I don't really get what in it for the HBO Max side to do this... getting a show that aired on the CW a day later doesn't seem like something that really moves the needle. I mean, I understand the Stargirl situation and farming it out to the CW, but this is the reverse.
But I love DC so if this ups the production values on stuff like Superman and Lois, I'm all for it. I'm confused because I've seen it written both ways. This article says "CW then HBOMax" but there's a Group I'm in where the Creator has been accurately breaking DC/CW TV stuff and he said it would be "HBOMax then CW" like Stargirl... |
Re: HBO Max Warnermedia streaming service launches May 2020
I wonder if this includes the three new pilots CW just picked up: Naomi (based on the DC property), Powerpuff Girls and a reboot of the 4400 (which doesn't even seem that old to me)

"Adult animated Velma series" is an odd way to word that, unless this is a Harley Quinn-like reimagining or something.

Re: HBO Max Warnermedia streaming service launches May 2020
So just to follow up on this issue with viewing alternate cuts of movies on HBO Max's Roku app, I still have the same issue.
I started the director's cut of Saw IV last night. Stopped after 15 minutes and went back and it just started all over again. The theatrical cut will pick up where it left off. I did add the director's cut to my Watch List, but it made no difference. |

I'm ok with people saying they want a particular show; at least he's not claiming he doesn't understand why it's not on there anymore. To be honest, I'd like it on there too; I haven't seen it in decades, and I remember it being a funny show. |
Re: HBO Max Warnermedia streaming service launches May 2020
I remember it being pretty much unwatchable.
Thought maybe I was wrong. So I checked You Tube. Here's the only extended clip available. I wasn't wrong. But hey, Paul Dooley! And apparently, he's still alive, which blows my mind. |

Niiice. I never finished The Knick! HBOMax is kickin' some serious streaming ass

Re: HBO Max Warnermedia streaming service launches May 2020
Does anyone else use the PS4 for HBO Max? And if so ... what's the current status of audio formats? It may not be everything, but many things I try to watch sounds like they're only 2.0 stereo or mono (despite being listed at 5.1 or Dolby Atmos). Internet searching shows that audio format support has been spotty, but it's unclear what the current status is supposed to be (or if there's any progress that's supposed to be made).
And if the PS4 app sucks, is there one better? Though I don't have any other streaming device (like Roku, Amazon Firestick, smart TV) at the moment. I have a good home theater set-up, so not being able to get at least 5.1 audio is kind of a deal killer for me for this service. Sorry if this is something talked about earlier in this thread (a search didn't show anything helpful for me). |

Just watched a couple of eps of Head of the Class, better than I remember, totally watchable

Was just seeing a post somewhere where people were talking..going off actually... about how they are ditching Netflix and its price hikes for HBOMax and its better selection. 😄👍🏿

Re: HBO Max Warnermedia streaming service launches May 2020
Tbf: Netflix has some pretty amazing original content. Queen’s Gambit, Chicago 7, Orange is New Black, etc. HM has content and movies, but severely pales in original content. Raised By Wolves certainly not setting world on fire...
