SiliconDust — the parent company of HDHomerun has unceremoniously popped up on its website HDHomerun Premium — 45 streaming channels for $34.99 a month. No contracts, and no cancellation fees.
The service will be available on all HDHomerun Connect and HDHomerun Extend devices. It's available now (pending a firmware update to version 20180802 or newer) in the United States, and "coming soon" to Canada.
To subscribe to HDHomerun Premium, you'll need to hit up my.HDHomeRun.com and jump through the hoops. As a bit of a preview, all channels are available for 2 minutes of viewing. If you don't want to subscribe, you can hide the channels using the stars in the channel lineup.
Third-party services that access HDHomerun — like Plex or Kodi or the Channels app — should work, SiliconDust says, though DVR functionality may not.
These channels are available to third party services right now, the same way regular over the air channels are. Accessing and making them visible to the user on these platforms does take some code tweaking though, particularly for those services that provide their own DVR, so we cannot say exactly when third party services will integrate these channels. With that said, we are happy to work with any third party developers to get integrated as quickly as possible.
