Vudu is backed by Walmart. I can't see it going the way of the Dodo.

The Target one disappeared. That said, Vudu has formed a much stronger spot in the market than Target ever did.

Yeah when I went all digital, I picked Vudu, with all that Wal-Mart backing.

Loyal customers of the 8-year-old Walmart Music Downloads Store wholeheartedly disagree.

This is what I've said many times.

It's a shame Paramount didn't joined Movies Anywhere. I would have really liked to see Black Sheep on Movies Anywhere.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

Looks like the rumors are true, Microsoft is joining Movies Anywhere. They have a page now:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/moviesanywhere (not active retailer on MA site yet)

And according to The Verge, it's happening later this week.
https://www.theverge.com/2018/8/6/17...box-windows-10

Personally, I would only buy MA movies on MS, as I don't have a way to view them on my TV with Xbox. At least if they have a better price on a MA title I have another option to buy now.

I just got five more movies on my cloud (things I had bought in the last MS Oscar sale and a couple of early freebies). Cool.

X-Men, Days of Future Past also shows up free for linking a Microsoft account.

Looking at that thread it seems no one had that movie.

Which I already had in my MA account. When I linked my MS account to MA, the only thing I received was my MA movies in my MS account. Looks like I never purchased (or freebie) anything from MS that is MA.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

How long does this take to transfer over?

I had The Hitman's Bodyguard on my Microsoft account, but it hasn't ported over yet. And I haven't received X-Men DOFP either.

Edit: DOFP just popped in after I disconnected and reconnected. Hitman still not there.

Doh....just realized Hitman's Bodyguard is a Lionsgate movie...not supported by MA.

Mine was immediate. The moment after I joined the Xbox account to MA, those five movies including Elf and Slumdog Millionaire showed up in Vudu My Movies collection.
Hitman's Bodyguard is Liongate and therefore not part of MA. Can't tell you about X-men DoFP because I already owned it.

Thanks for this. I didn't have to follow exact instructions per slickdeals -- I simply logged in to MA on my mobile device's web app. I discovered that I'd received the DOFP theatrical cut in iTunes -- because I already had the DOFP rogue cut.

Downloaded and backed up in case MSFT leaves MA, or there are ever rights issues between the studio(s) and MA.

Now if MGM, Lionsgate, and Paramount would join MA... that would be nice. I'd like to have the handful of films from those studios that were not downloadable in iTunes, so I could get those extras in iTunes.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

Linked my MSFT accounts and got Days of Future Past, which as luck would have it is one of the few X-movies I don't have (along with Logan and The Wolverine). Also did Fandango while I was at it.

I have a number of Xbox movies, but that console is a lot more prone to buffering than my PS3/4, and I can now also watch on my ipad, so this is a double win for me.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

Stupid question regarding Movies Anywhere and Microsoft Movies. So I linked them today, and without using an app (since I'm at work, and I'm just curious) I was wondering if there was a way to see all of the movies I have in my Microsoft Movies library. I know I can get home and look at it through my Xbox One, but I was hoping there was another way. Like just a webpage or something.

Not via the website, no. If you login to the website, it'll give you a "My Movies & TV" link, but this just launches the Windows App "Movies and TV" on a PC. The link isn't there at all on mobile.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I think if you use the link IDrinkMolson posted earlier, you can sign in to your MSFT account and navigate to your collection from there.

Nope, that doesn't work. All that page does is redirect to MA.

You can definitely check your MA library via the MA website. However, that's not the same as what your Microsoft Movies & TV library is going to be, since some titles may not sync over if Microsoft doesn't have it, and you may have some non-MA titles in your Microsoft Movies & TV library.

Exactly what Jay said. I guess I'll just wait until I get home but at least I wasn't crazy after all. At least not completely crazy .

Right, Molson's link was to MA, but you can navigate from there to the main Movies & TV site. That should have a link to My Movies & TV.

But you can't view "My Movies & TV" via the website. It's a link to launch the "Movies and TV" UWP app on PC.

I've tried, several different ways. If someone can find an actual webpage, not a link to launch an app or whatever, that lists the movies on a given account, please provide the actual link.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

What's funny is that if you click on a movie in the web store, and you own it, it will say:
"You own this product."
But there's no library or list of owned movies online.
