Re: Disney+ streaming service

I currently don't have anything to watch on Disney plus; I've watched all the Marvel and Star Wars originals, my main reason for subscribing. Looks like I have to wait until Obi Wan Kenobi in May until I get anything else out of this. I have the Disney bundle though, so I'm stuck with it. Have plenty to watch on Hulu and ESPN Plus

I've been watching Disney movies most my life. I got D+ mainly for their extensive catalog. Their new stuff is cool, too.

If you were ever a fan of Doogie Howser, I recommend Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. I've been watching it lately and I like it so far. I also like Encore! and The World According to Jeff Goldblum.

Disney+ Adding Cheaper Ad-Supported Tier

Pricing for the new tier will be announced ahead of its launch later this year.

International option? That sounds cool.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Unless you are frugal or have a really tight entertainment budget, I don't know why anyone would consider the ad supported tier. I've had Disney + for almost 3 years now and I wouldn't downgrade to ad supported just to save a few bucks.

They are doing this for growth. Have people subscribe at the lower tier, then you offer them to upgrade to non ad for a small fee.

It might become a decision when they decide to raise the ad free price in the future.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

I get Disney+ for free through my current Verizon mobile plan, so my biggest concern is that Verizon will only offer the ad version once Disney + updates (Verizon also gives me Hulu for free and it's the ad version).

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Looks like the former Netflix titles have brought a MA tier to Disney+. You have to update your settings before they will show up.

This is part of the email I just got. I had logged into the Disney+ app on my phone earlier and it prompted me to update my settings.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

On the website, after I turned on the main profile it said to go to the app to change the other profiles, but after I picked a PIN, it gave me the option to toggle the other profiles to MA.

Netflix turned off my Daredevil avatar.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Just got Disney+. Have a few questions. I'm streaming through Comcast.
1. Can you change setting to start program from beginning? Right now it's resuming from where you left off. Can't find out how to restart from beginning.
2. Can you turn off automatically playing the next episode?
3. Wouldn't mind being able to remove "skip intro" from showing on screen during credits.

Right now, after watching an episode of a show, and I want to watch a different show I have to
1. Press exit during end credits of a show, which exits the app entirely
2. Then reload app and watch second show. Pain in the ass.

I've poked around and can't find a settings menu with these options.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

On the Disney+ website, you can edit profile settings. One of the features is having AutoPlay on or off (#2).

For #1, I see a Restart button with my Firecube Disney app.

Don’t have an answer for #3.

But I believe there are more setting options available through your browser, rather than through a device app.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

I finally dumped directv and am considering adding hulu live once I start missing live tv. Has anyone successfully switched from the Verizon Disney plus signup to the one that comes in the bundle?
I’d like to avoid starting from scratch but I guess it’s not a dealbreaker.

You should be able to. It's pretty easy to link accounts. I had a Hulu account that was separate from my ESPN and Disney + accounts and I was able to link them together with very little effort and no problems.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

That seems odd... were ratings that bad on ABC? I thought that was one of their more popular shows?

The show has been in ratings decline for years. They only produce it 1 time per week now. At it's peak, I recall they did sometimes 3 shows a week.

I read it's move to Disney + frees up space for some extra Monday Night Football games and other programming.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

So it is hard to believe that in around 8 months my 3 year super great priced D+ deal will expire (I suspect a ton of others on this site will also need to re-up on D+ sometime in November), if they have some sort of special priced deal on a gimmick day like May, 4th that is good for existing and current subscribers, I can always grab the deal and it will just kick in once my 3 year deal is up, correct?

Re: Disney+ streaming service

If you have cell phone service with Verizon, some of their plans include Disney+ and Hulu (w/ads). Our family uses Verizon. We switched one of our lines to a different plan (which includes the bonuses). I don't think our cost went up much, if at all, and we now have those included.

Yeah, Disney/ABC spent all that money getting Aikman and Buck for football, they probably want some of those ESPN games on ABC as well. And moving Dancing is just a way of getting a demographic who might not have Disney+ to sign up.
