Ugh- they put the 1990s Columbia Pictures intro music over the 1980s logo at the beginning- and I think this movie originally opened with the starburst.

Yes, but some of us want movies and TV shows to be presented as they *originally* were - no changes. That includes replacing corporate logos at the front and/or end. If you want to *add* your new one, it's kind of OK as I can always skip it if it annoys me enough. But those logos are frequently imbedded into your phyche and become part of the movie.
