Re: Shudder - AMC's streaming service for Horror fans

I don’t know if anyone is as excited about this as I am, but they just announce Joe Bob Briggs will be hosting a 24 horror movie marrathon in the spirit of MonsterVision on Friday the 13th this July.

I saw that. I think I’ll check it out. Curious what movies will be shown.

The Joe Bob Briggs show starts Friday at 9pm EST.

Here's a FAQ about the marathon and how to watch it.

Get a 60-Day Free Trial. Use promo code "GROUPON60" when you sign-up.

The promo code worked for me, even though I had a previous account. According to the FAQ, it won't be available if you subscribe through VRV, Amazon, etc.

For fans of Joe Bob, James Rolfe of Cinemassacre (aka Angry Video Game Nerd) interviewed him recently on his YouTube channel. There's two videos, one is a full half hour interview and the second is a Q&A from Twitter. Pretty entertaining videos.

I went to that facebook link and the page kept getting smaller then larger then smaller again.

I was thinking about resubscribing after hearing about it on CordCutterNews YouTube show.

Anything that brings back memories of TNT's Monstervision is a good thing.

Update: Just rejoined and thanks for the promo code.

Two questions:
How many streams are you allowed with Shudder(their website;Roku Channel)?
Where is their live TV schedule located?

It's too bad that Full Moon doesn't have a 24 hour live channel.

It's also too bad that they are overcome with crappy edited Adult movies that were seen on Cinemax 20 years ago.

Still can't find a program listing for Shudder TV and how many streams are allowed.

Re: Shudder - AMC's streaming service for Horror fans

There isn't a program listing for Shudder TV.

It's been a while since I watched it. But in the past, there were a dozen movies that played on a loop. Every so often, they would change the movies.

It would be nice if they mentioned the title of show or tv series every 15 or 30 minutes on the screen so I would know what I am watching because a lot of the time I miss the very beginning.

I’m using a roku stick for tonights marathon and Shudder TV seems to be frozen while loading. Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: Shudder - AMC's streaming service for Horror fans

I am having all kinds of buffering issues using an Roku Express Plus Stick. I just tried watching 2 movies and got through the first but gave up watching the second one because of the said issues.

Aw shit. I’m using the same thing

Yeah. It seems they are totally not ready for a big event (for them) like this. :(

Xbox One - just a spinning circle
iPad app - connected... but now crashed

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Yes, we are aware there's an issue, and we are working on a fix! I just went to their website(using Google Chrome) and it's not working.

I was going too run my 50 ft HDMI cable over to my main tv but seems pointless.

Mine won’t even pull up (trying on an iPhone currently).

Shudder says they're aware of the issue and working on it.

I've been really looking forward to this... how could they not anticipate a surge in traffic for this event. What a fuckup.

Hopefully this proof of demand for more JBB may lead to something more permanent though

Re: Shudder - AMC's streaming service for Horror fans

I told a few people about it but they probably didn't bother with it.

Re: Shudder - AMC's streaming service for Horror fans

Blah. I know as soon as I give up, they will fix it. Actually, that is probably their actual fix: wait everyone out until few enough people are watching so their servers work again.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The staggering demand for Joe Bob has temporarily overwhelmed Shudder TV. We’re working to fix it ASAP. Re: Shudder - AMC's streaming service for Horror fans

Hopefully they put the marathon up to watch whenever we want. Even without the screwup I probably wouldn’t have been able to dedicate twenty-four hours as much as I’d love to watch it all.

SunMonkey 07-13-18 09:34 PM

Re: Shudder - AMC's streaming service for Horror fans

Finally, the stream is up for me on my iPad.
