Pretty sure $47 was the final price, but I admit I didn't check my credit card statement for it.

Overall I'm pretty happy with Shudder. The Roku and iOS apps both work well, and while I'm only streaming a couple films a month so far, it's nice to be able to check out stuff I'm not familiar with, and the Roku Express works well. It's nice to have a Roku on each TV now.

I'll probably cancel at the end of the year so as to not pay full price, but will likely be a repeat subscriber eventually.

One thing I love about Shudder is that they do an excellent job of selecting titles. They don't just grab a bunch of junk. Almost every movie is worth watching. There's very little filler content. So you can take a chance on a title you've never heard of, and it's usually pretty good.

AMC's Shudder Takes German Mystery Series 'The Valley'

Shudder, AMC's genre-focused streaming service, has picked up the mystery-thriller series The Valley for the U.S., Canada, Ireland and the U.K.

The series, the first one-hour original production from German pay TV channel TNT Serie, is a Twin Peaks-style mystery thriller set against the backdrop of German wine country. Friedrich Muecke stars as a man who wakes up in a vineyard next to a woman's bloody corpse and no memory of who he is or what happened.

Episode 1 is up now. New episodes are added every Thursday (6 total).

And let me guess- it WON'T be in 3D? My free trial ends in a couple weeks and I haven't had time to watch a lot on it, but the lack of 5.1 sound is a deal-breaker. Haven't watched any recent movies on it because of that.

I'm also on my 2nd free month but that ends this week- I've honestly not had time to watch anything the entire month, but will make a point of watching the WNUF Halloween Special before Thursday's over. I'll do the 3rd free month if they let me and try to catch some more stuff, but again the lack of 5.1 is a deal-breaker when it comes to paying for it.
