I don't subscribe, but I'm curious. Are all films shown in their proper aspect ratio (unlike AMC, which crops widescreen films)?

I'd say at least 95% of the films are OAR. They don't intentionally crop or edit any of the movies. It depends on whether they licensed a poor source or not.
For example, An American Werewolf In London is an SD-quality fullscreen version. And a couple movies like The Case of the Bloody Iris are windowboxed (black bars on all 4 sides). But most movies are HD OAR. |

Shudder Acquires SXSW Slasher Movie ‘Lake Bodom’ Shudder, the AMC Networks-backed genre streaming service, has picked up exclusive U.S., Canada and U.K. rights to the Finnish slasher film “Lake Bodom” in advance of its premiere at SXSW. Fabien Westerhoff’s Film Constellation is handling worldwide sales in Berlin. Director/writer Taneli Mustonen’s film, inspired by real-life events, follows four teenagers on a pilgrimage to Lake Bodom, the site of a brutal killing of a group of teenagers in the 1960s, where they quickly find themselves repeating history. Here's the plot summary from Wikipedia: Police inspector Eva Thörnblad (Moa Gammel) returns to the village of Silverhöjd, seven years after her daughter Josephine disappeared beside a lake in the forest. Josephine's body was never found and it was presumed that she had drowned. Upon Eva's return, a boy is missing and Eva begins to look for similarities between this disappearance and that of her daughter. At the same time, she has to deal with the death and probate of her late father and his large timber felling and processing business, Thörnblad Cellulosa. Over the course of the series, Eva discovers that the children's disappearance is inextricably tangled with the conflict between those who want to protect the forest and the community that depends on Thörnblad Cellulosa. |
