Shudder fans should check out Screambox. I tried it when it first came out, and wasn't impressed. I gave it a second chance recently, and it's really improved. There's still a ton of crappy filler. But their catalog is full of great classics from the 70's-90's. And the price is cheap. It's $15 for 6 months or $27 for a year.

Watching In Search Of Darkness III and have to say how much I love Bill Lustig's voice. It lends such an amusing timbre to the things he's saying.

Influencer just got added to Shudder. It's a fun movie that reminded me of 90's popcorn thrillers like Wild Things.

With Joe Bob Briggs on a mid-season break, I might have to check that out tonight. Though now I'm a tiny bit wary of jumping into Shudder new releases since there's a chance that they'll be featured on The Last Drive-In. It's not keeping me up at night or anything, but I would've much preferred my first ever viewing of Possession to have had Joe Bob's commentary to go along with it. (If only to explain what the hell was going on. Ha.) I watched that film back when Shudder first added it. Feeling no need to revisit the movie, I just watched JB's segments when the episode was available on demand.

Just finished Joe Bob, and was surprised to see a shout out to a Drive-in I’ve been to!
We didn't go to this one that often. Usually went to one that was about 10 miles away.
My late brother used to tell a story about this drive-in. He was riding in one of his friends cars back when they were in high school. And they were in the store parking lot next door, and there was a porn showing on the big screen. His friend drove right into the concrete base of a light pole in the parking lot.
Pretty cool (for me, probably not so much for you

I have the AMC+ sub still and Joe Bob is live tonight. That's new, afaik. Of course I missed the beginning so have to wait until on demand drops anyway.

Over the last couple years I've settled into a pattern of subscribing around September and keeping it through November. 7 bucks a month is OK by me for my purposes.

Does that price increase mean they’re going to finally improve their technical quality?

"Starting October 2, 2023, the Screambox subscription price will increase to $6.99 per month for our monthly plan and $59.99 per year for our annual plan. These changes will take effect on your next billing cycle after October 2. "
You can still subscribe at the current rates.

Was it announced that this episode of Last Drive-In would only have 1 movie? (Night of the Demons) Or did the entire show just suddenly end for me?

Joe Bob sort of indicated they were only showing that movie from the jamboree with the promo.

Deadline has a great article on Joe Bob. Definitely worth reading.

Here's the info on the next season:
The new season will see Briggs host and dissect more than 30 films, which is a new record. The world’s foremost drive-in movie critic, Briggs will next be back for two Halloween-themed specials in October, a holiday special in December, and a Valentine’s Day special in February, before transitioning to a new series format in March 2024.
Whereas Briggs’ signature movie watch parties have thus far been a double-feature experience, and more of this kind of programming can certainly be expected up ahead, he’ll primarily pivot now to spotlighting single titles, streaming every other Friday night. The good news is that over the course of the next year, he’ll have more of a consistent presence on Shudder than he ever has before, having previously appeared in just two blocks of 5-6 episodes streaming from April through midsummer, and on a few other special occasions annually.
Originally taping in Texas before migrating to New Jersey during the pandemic, the show has this season gone on the move again, setting up shop at the Senoia, Georgia studios where the Walking Dead series have filmed, with access to a backlot for the first time.
