Kenan Thompson hosting the Emmys last night:
"People find Stranger Things hard to watch because it's so scary. People find Squid Game hard to watch because it's so violent. People find Yellowjackets hard to watch because it's on Showtime."

In the US market you still have to pay extra for Showtime content on P+ anyways. I think walling off content just annoys your customer base more than anything.

They are considering closing the apps. Which makes sense since Showtime has content deals with various
studios. The Showtime channels will still exist but you use Paramount+ to access streaming for Showtime.

(That’s $10.83/month)

That comes out to $10.83 per month, which is still .84 cents more ($10 more per year) but better than paying double the usual rate.

*This deal is good until October, I think.
FYI this deal is ending soon if you had the Apple TV+ bundle and want to get Paramount + and Showtime on sale.

I am aware of all this, but even though I let my Apple TV + subscription expire, Paramount + doesn't believe me and says that I am still subscribed through Apple and won't let me subscribe through their site. I suppose I could use an alternative email but I don't want to. It's very frustrating.

I had to sign up with a different email when I switched today. It’s a pain.

Same here... I even went into my settings in iTunes and revoked the sign-in permission for Paramount+. The plus side is I've had the Paramount+ app free for almost two weeks now.

I wondering if Paramount only validates the subscription on the first of the month... we will see tomorrow. Otherwise I'm going to contact Paramount+ support and see what they can do.

Mine expired on the 28th of September, I still show as having a subscription on the 29th through Apple. I called support and they can’t fix it.

So the rep had me change the email address in the account. I then signed out and tapped on the offer I wanted. Go through the account creation again with my original email address. This is technically a new account so I had to setup stuff again.

But it was the only way to work around the AppleTV channel lock.

You can just add a 1 to your email address when changing it if you want.

No Paramount + app on PS5? That's insane.

Really? I had it on my PS4. I have a Roku on my TV that my PS5 is hooked up to so I never installed streaming apps on it.

I have it on ATV4K and you get DV/Atmos. The PS5 can only give you access to it if you have the subscription through Apple Channels. I believe you lose DV/Atmos and it only plays back in standard 5.1 and SDR.

I had to switch from PS5 to XSX to run the app after getting rid of my Apple TV subscription.

Nope it didn't reset today... still getting it for free. I was on the fence about the Showtime bundle and it looks like the yearly $99.99 pricing for just Paramount+ isn't going away tomorrow. If Paramount wants to give me free service... well okay then.

What happened to The Contractor? Was on Paramount+, now isn't, and it's a Paramount-owned film.

Looks like it got moved over to Showtime: It should still be there in the P+ ecosystem, but there's a tab that says "Showtime" that indexes the Showtime material.

I think that Showtime bundle is ending tonight. I just signed up for it. You can use coupon code MDQ22 to get the first month free.

The bundle discount is still active as of this morning. The banner on the main page advertising it is still there and now with no expiration listed.

It’s licensing issues. It’s not anywhere right now, but it will return to Paramount plus eventually.

Added to our account as well. Here's to hoping we get the discount. Our annual is up late February. Lots of time between now and then for it to not work.
