Yes? Apparently they put more $ into advertising it than they did trying to fix the problems.

And re-engineering is a strong word. I can't imagine adding the two most commonly requested features would require any sort of major overhaul.

I guess my expectations of these companies is much lower than some of you.

Well, they did hype this overhaul and intentionally not tie it at all to CBS All Access in advertising, so I think it was fair to assume they'd have a big launch, maybe a new app and certainly loads more content.

My guess is they need to see how customers respond to the rebranding before they commit budget dollars to updating the app. All Access had to be struggling for them to do this rebranding in the first place.

I assume some of it had to do with the merger of CBS and Viacom. They very well could be struggling, and maybe some of that has to do with the name. As I see it the CBS implies it is just CBS stuff. The new name implies a much broader catalog of content.

Edit: meant merger between CBS and VIacom

I'd have to say that a watchlist/queue/favorites/whatever is almost a minimum acceptable feature. Especially for a service so heavily invested in TV programming with various seasons and episodes. At least they have a 'continue watching' section.
Minor thing, but they also need some more (and more adult) Avatar profile icons. At least the paw patrol pups are cute.

I did notice some old VH1 shows being added like Storytellers and the original Behind the Music. They are in the MTV hub. But, only a few episodes. I hope they add more as I enjoyed those back in the day and I know P+ is rebooting Behind the Music, so it would be nice if they add the entire back catalogue.

I know this is a work in progress. They have lots of stuff still licensed to other services.
It'll be interesting to see what happens. As license agreements run out or change, content will move around; streaming services will continue to rise, fall, and combine.

I'm not sure if it would be better for them to dump a ton of new content, or roll it out in phases. They may have been pushing the 50% discount pretty hard so they may think they have a year to roll stuff out, and if something good can come out each week or two, that may leave a better taste in consumer's minds than a dump right now and very little over the next months.

Paramount's a better name. It implies history, movies, etc. When I think CBS I think cop shows, reality shows, and "hmm, what was the last thing I watched on CBS?"
"Plus" is bland and unoriginal.

I don't think the new name implies anything to most people right now (like if you told someone you had all the Paramount properties would people know what that entails) but the rebrand and the commercials are certainly out to make the rebrand mean something, which I know is your point.

Heck, when I think of Paramount I think of stuff like Transformers (movies), Mission Impossible, Star Trek movies and Dreamworks. They have no Transformers, they're missing the latest MI movies, and I don't think they even have the majority of Dreamworks titles. I realize that it's because of licensing but I'm not going to say that's a great look.

One of the reasons I switched CBS All-Access to Amazon Prime at the time was because they only allowed one stream.

However ,it's next to impossible to navigate Amazon Prime if you have a few additional channels so I might switch back to the Paramount Plus app but I did have lot's of problems previously with the CBS All-Access app.

Re: Paramount+ (formerly CBS All-Access) - ViacomCBS streaming service - rebrand 3/4/21

I seem to have a problem. This morning my Samsung TV said the CBS was no longer available and asked me to delete it. However, the App "store" on the set doesn't have the Paramount App. I checked my Samsung player and it showed the app, but it will not recognize my e-mail/password combo. I tried the other method, where the screen gives me a sign-in code but the code isn't visible.
Thoughts?

I had trouble logging in this morning. I was using a Roku though. I had to check for updates and it updated my app. I was able to log in after the update.

I could get it on Roku but it's an older model that I don't really use any more and it doesn't seem to download in Dolby 5.1 or DTS. I don't really want to buy a new one just for this.
I spent two hours on hold with Paramount and never got a CSR. I called Samsung and got a CSR right away, but they tell me if the App doesn't come up in the search I'm dunzo. I have to cancel my 50% deal by midnight.

If you have Amazon Prime Video then switch Paramount Plus to Amazon Prime who's app works on Samsung TVs.

I'm not sure I follow... I have that 50% off deal and I need the specific Paramount Plus App. I'm not sure what you mean by switching Plus to Prime.

I'll also throw in with a little bit of shock they didn't refresh the interface...I find it harder than most to find the content you are looking for.

Trying a month out. So far, much ado about nothing. But they were very smart to copy the layout of Discovery + on their app.

I'm confused too. I was under the impression that to access something like Paramount + from the Amazon Prime app, you had to subscribe through amazon (same for apple +)

I know, they don't even seem to have a search feature. I was looking for that Real World reunion show last night & cannot find it anywhere on the app. It truly is horrible interface.

Yeah--you subscribe through Amazon.

I thought there is already a thread about streaming deals so if someone want's to save money then it should be posted on that thread.

He's saying he's already subscribed directly to Paramount + and you're telling him to use the Amazon Prime app. Can you really switch over an already paid for subscription? Unfortunately it seems like his deadline to cancel has passed. Although hopefully this was just some weird thing with the app update and not some lack of support for older Samsung models. That is one reason why I stopped using the smart apps on my TV, they always go out of support (and then you have to buy a new TV, much easier to just get a roku or firestick if they're supported by the app you want)
