Purchased a gift card off Ebay for $18.50. My current GC expires next month.
However, the 1st code I received was a bust. It said it was already redeemed. I e-mailed the seller again and he sent me another code. Strike 2, that code was also said to be redeemed.
I e-mailed the seller and asked him what the hell was going on. He told me that they were "tested" from his "sources" How do you even test GC codes? He said he had no idea why they didn't work.
Well, he graciously decided to refund my money. But, something is weird going on with this. Maybe Hulu is catching on to this "cheap" codes and are voiding them?

Hulu acquired the rights to Unreal, which aired on Lifetime last summer. Season 1 will be available February 3rd.
BTW, I went to a different seller on Ebay and got a Hulu Gift Card that worked. I'm paid through October 22nd.

Yes, there are some that don't work and Hulu has cancelled some accounts for people who have used them. I won't go into details, but it's hit or miss with these.
No GC's for Netflix.

I think the problem is that some eBay sellers were selling $100 GCs that had been bought with stolen credit cards. When it's reported, those codes get canceled or they close the accounts that used the codes.
Other eBay sellers are selling legit $100 credit promos that come with some big screen TVs. Sony was offering them about a year or two ago. I think some Samsung models still include the promo. The seller probably works at an electronics store and removes the bonus offer slips from the boxes.

Hulu is stepping up its game in 2016, signing a multi-year licensing deal with Sony. The new pact will amp up the streaming service’s library, adding full seasons of TV series and films from Sony to Hulu.

So I'm watching this, and the episode order for season 1 is completely jacked up. Apparently it aired out of order, and they're in that order rather than the actual story chronology. If you plan to watch, here's a guide to the correct viewing order:
