I added Disney + with Hulu but I rarely ever watch anything on Disney + and they don't have a lot of movies and mostly kid stuff and cartoons.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Is Hulu running more ads?

Now you get 6 or 8 ad breaks with movies and each of them run for 2 minutes

Immaculate a 1 hr and 29 minute movie seemed like 2 hours.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

I finally activated my free year of Hulu with my T-Mobile account and also added in Disney Plus for cheap. I thought what a cool benefit from T-Mobile, but then holy cow the ads suck. I'm used to Paramount Plus and Peacock where the ads run once before the movie.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

We grudgingly pay $18.00 a month for Hulu ad free. They have, by far, the longest and most frequent breaks. Couldn't handle it anymore. The knife in the back is you can't pay annually ad free - only monthly so there's no discount like Max etc.

The Hulu/Disney+ commercial free bundle for $19.99/month saves you a nice chunk of change. I'm on that bundle.

So is everything that's on Hulu via D+ complete? Meaning I don't have to have actual HULU since it's all available via the full ad-free D+ subscription?

No, you need an active Hulu subscription that is linked to Disney +. They aren’t giving D+ away like that.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Why do some shows on Hulu let you skip the recaps and opening title cards, but not others? Most every show I watch on Hulu has these options, but when I watch Only Murders in the Building I don't get it for either, recap or credits skip. Is this the way it is supposed to be or do I have to set something to make it work? thanks in advance.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Per Hulu support:

We do offer a skip intro/skip recap feature on select devices and shows.
I guess Murders doesn't have it.

Thanks Meat. Thought it was my settings. it's a little annoying to have on some shows, but not all.

If you have Kroger's Boost product (free shipping, other benefits), they are now offering free Hulu, Disney+ or ESPN+ as a perk. Only one and all are ad versions.

Looks like ongoing perk for $99 version, 6 month trial for $59 version.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Hulu has eliminated the Disney+ Add-On, concurrent with the price hikes today. The only way to get Disney+ though Hulu is to buy one of the Disney Bundles now. I imagine that one reason they did this was to eliminate people getting the base Hulu rate for really cheap (through Black Friday or student discount or the like), and then adding on Disney+ for just a couple extra dollars, and thus replicating the Disney Bundle for a much cheaper rate.

It looks like they're converting everyone with an Add-On to a Disney Bundle. For people like me with the legacy Disney+ (No Ads) Add-on (and Hulu basic), they've converted us to a custom Disney Bundle Duo that's not available elsewhere that includes Hulu basic with Disney+ Premium for $12.98. That is at least somewhat nice in that it is $1 less than what they had announced with the price increase a couple months ago, which would have been $13.98, because of the $2 Hulu price increase, and a $1 price increase on the Disney+ (No Ads) Add-on.

I just lost espn+ (don't care) and Hulu w ads after switching to t-mobile from Verizon.

went on D+ web site to see what they have to add hulu and it's a bit of a mess.
Im still on the 3 year legacy D+ price too.

Can we expect another $2 a month deal on Black Friday?

I've had Hulu/Disney with ads for the promo rate $2.99/ month total for the last year. Gettin' set to cancel when it expires.

On my Roku Ultra I am able to skip the recap. I just did it yesterday evening when I watched the season finale.

Coincidentally I just got an email from Hulu offering $2.99 but for only 6 months.
Expires on December 4th so still time to see if there will be a black Friday offer.
Hopefully this isn't the Black Friday deal

Ah that sucks. I had Hulu thru Sprint and when T-mobile bought them out they let me keep Hulu. So through my older plan Hulu is still grandfathered in and Apple TV is from T-Mobile both free. Id have to upgrade my plan to get Netlfix free but id lose Hulu.

Still waiting for that Black Friday to drop.

Peacock already did

I guess my Hulu ended within the last month as I'm not eligible yet.

Hate to have to start over again with another email

i have HBO though HULU, why are the series are expiring?

RichC2 02-20-25 01:10 PM

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

It costs money to have those shows and movies available so, like most streamers, they will rotate them unless it's an "Original" to that platform.

Though Warner/HBO came up with a strategy that allowed them to nuke some of their pre-existing shows for a tax write off, so that isn't even guaranteed anymore.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

I noticed Amazon exclusive movies like the Voyeurs and Tomorrow War are now showing up on Hulu.
