If you like cheesy b-movies with some boobs, this fills the bill. I watched it a year or two ago on Netflix.

It can’t be any more awesomely bad than Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead.

This is a little odd, but I'll see if this ever happened to someone else. I have a Samsung 4K 8000 series. Suddenly, my Prime Video is only showing up in "Full Screen" only, -that is, all the letter-boxed films are showing up in full screen (squashed) and 4:3 is window-boxed (black frame on all sides). Netflix seems just fine, this seems to be just Prime. Even my Roku shows Prime properly (it just doesn't output to 4K like my Samsung). I've fiddled with every setting I can, but it stays the same.

Yeah same thing happened when I was trying to watch IT . It was displayed in some sort of zoomed-in, full screen aspect ratio.

Have there always been ads on this? We had Prime a while back but let it expire and we’re doing the free trial thing for a while and there’s an ad before everything. Is this new?

I get "ads" for other Prime TV/Movies, but I don't know when it started.

I got ads for the first time ever during a movie-Something Beneath.

I have gotten them before movies but never during a movie.

At least you can fast-forward thru them... for now.

It looks like this is Amazon's free movies with ads package(Now TV) and it got mixed in with Amazon Prime(it's also known as ImDb. Freedive). ImDb Freedive is built in Amazon Fire TV.

maybe i haven't been watching much on Amazon streaming or anything at all, but when did the interface get so damn good? i love that when you are watching a show and press details it shows the star's name and character on screen. that is so cool. and to me it seems to be the nicest picture than the other streaming services, which i know you'll say that's my internet, but Amazon stuff just seems to look so damn good, but this interface i am in love with. so cool...

Been doing that for movies forever. Has been expanded to include more lately. They call it X-Ray I think.

Yeah, it's called X-Ray, and it started as a feature on their Fire tablets and Fire TV dongle. This article says they were adding 100 titles a week back in 2015:
https://www.wired.com/2015/04/amazon-xray-fire-tv/

It's gradually expanded out, being supported on more devices and more titles. Here's the device list from 2016:
https://www.cnet.com/how-to/everythi...ws-and-movies/

Amazon sometimes tucks away bonus features into it:

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

Wow. That is so cool. Yeah, I saw the words x-ray come up on screen, but had know idea what that meant. Now, it makes sense. Love the feature. Wish other streaming services would follow suit. Great feature and I’m gonna watch more Amazon bc of it and the PQ as I mentioned. Does it come up for movies too? I only saw a series on it. Love that MA makes most my digital library available on multiple streaming sites. If it’s like this for movies, might make the switch from Vudu to Amazon to watch my movies. As much as I love Vudu interface and thought it was best, till now...

Amazon owns IMDB, which is where the X-ray info comes from.

I like Amazon's interface. They not only tell you whats new, but I like the recommendations part as well. They have put many things on my radar that I would have never known was on Amazon both new and old content.

I also enjoy that their originals are in 4K UHD.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

I hate Amazon's interface, at least on the Fire TV. No way to search for just stuff that's available with Prime.

For instance, if you want to see what anime is available via Prime, I have no idea how to do it. It used to be that you could search for Anime Strike which was their anime service.

OldBoy 07-28-19 06:24 PM

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

Can’t you search by the title of anime?

TheBigDave 07-28-19 08:44 PM

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

I think Amazon's interface is awful. Especially on the Roku. It's just a long row of thumbnails. You have to keep scrolling and scrolling to find anything.

If you have a large library, it's impossible to find stuff by browsing. There's no good way to Sort or Filter movies. If I'm in the mood to watch a Comedy, I have to scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll through my entire collection. The only way to find something is to Search for the title. But if the movie's been delisted, it won't show up. I own a few obscure titles at Amazon that I'm never going to watch because I can't find them in my huge library.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

^^^ Agree on all of that. Every survey I've done for the Prime shows I watch, I comment every time about their interface and how it's the absolute worst.

do you mean if I know the exact title? Sure. But if you want to browse a category, good luck. They mix their stuff with all the other channels you can buy from them.

I found the Prime Anime TV column. It wasn't a struggle to find it.

right. Now try it on a fire tv or another tv interface.

I just noticed how much Classic TV is on Amazon Prime. Here's some titles that I saw. And there's a lot more. I don't know if they've always had this much TV content. I guess I never paid much attention. But it's pretty amazing how many shows they have.

Thanks for the list!

The search function along with advertising new additions to Prime sucks in the AppleTV and PS4 apps.

I know for a fact that Prime Video Canada won't have some of those shows as Cheers and X-Files are in another Streaming service here.

I need to search for the following:
  • Magnum P.I.
  • Taxi
  • Family Ties
  • Wings
  • Perry Mason
  • The Prisoner
