you know i bought the Resident Evil: Retribution 3D Bluray and the digital redeemed both the 3D and 2D. that was a nice surprise. might have to check out Vudu 3D for once. wait, strike that rented In the Heart of the Sea in 3D. i think the effects were ok, but the movie not so much...

My Resident Evil: Retribution redeemed in 2D also. From what I've read elsewhere, there are 4 movies which some people have had redeem in 3D on VUDU: Resident Evil: Retribution, Hotel Transylvania, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Men in Black 3 (maybe - I see different things in different places). I have all four, and only Hotel Transylvania redeemed in 2D and 3D for me.

I also had Oz the Great and Powerful redeem in 3D (only) on DMA. Reading elsewhere, that was the only Disney movie anyone else reported getting a 3D redemption with.

I have lots of these in 3D blu ray but have never been able to redeem in Vudu 3D. That's my one regret as I'm building my Vudu collection.

Also got an email that all owned HD will be converted to HDX. Doesn't help me though as I always get HDX. Now if they add the 3D to disks you purchased as 3D, then that will bring smiles to many a Vudu collector.

They've dropped the regular "HD" option from all titles it seems, but you can still manually select it during playback. My previous internet service only allowed me to watch at that level, it kept dropping out at HDX, but I eventually upgraded it.

I'm new to VUDU. Do any Criterion movies come with VUDU codes? Also, does the HDX version, of any movie, come with the same extras as the Blu-ray copy?

Nope. No digital copies with Criterion. That's the only thing that I'm clinging to as I double dip on Inside Llewyn Davis and Boyhood.

Didn't used to, but they're adding featurettes now retroactively. Still no Commentaries though.

However, if the movie is eligible, you may be able to use the Disc-to-Digital service with the Criterion disc to get a digital copy. I was able to do that with my Criterion copy of Repo Man.

What extras, if any, vary from title to title, and may not match the Blu-ray. This can cut both ways, as Vudu may have an extra exclusive to its service that's not on the Blu-ray.

As Decker has noted, Vudu originally didn't have any extras, but they've been going back and adding them to some titles. If you already own the title on Vudu, you get the extras for free.

When it says, "This title is viewable on PC in SD only," does that also include anything running on iOS? I don't have any Macs to test it out.

Nope. Just web browsers.
If you use the Vudu app on iOS, you should be able to watch in HDX.
