I barely make the play-in with 11 of 25 titles (assuming we're talking strictly digital).

WB 100 - 25 Fantasy Action & Adventure Bundle is the deal of the day for $25!

And yes, I do have all 25 already.

I have 14 of those movies. 22 if you count the ones I also own on disc. So it's a pass for me.

There are some good titles in the TCM 10 for $50, but get out of here with the weak discount when you require a purchase of 10. And only 61 to choose from.

Today's DotD is 25 Columbia Action Films for $25. Surprisingly I only have 9 of them (plus unrated versions of Salt and Hancock). Not sure the rest is compelling enough for me to spring for the set, but I'm at least considering it.

Re: The Fandango at Home (Vudu) Thread - News, Bargains & Codes

I have 17 of the WB 25 Award Winners.

However, there were two Universal 25-film bundles yesterday, and I had only six or seven in each one. I was tempted, but two bundles at $40 each seemed too rich, even at about $2 per movie. The romantic comedies deal is dead today, but the action one is still live, so I’m thinking about it.

Hey, I have only seven out of 25 movies… in the Nic Cage Lionsgate collection. And I’m sure at least a few of them were filler in Fanflix three-for-$5 sales.

Re: The Fandango at Home (Vudu) Thread - News, Bargains & Codes

Seven also! And no desire for any of the other 18!

A Complete Unknown is on sale for $9.99. While no extras are showing on VUDU, it has a bunch on Movies Anywhere including a full commentary from Director James Mangold.

I really liked it and was considering getting that deal.

Would I watch it after it leaves Hulu and before it drops even further? I dunno.

With the Weekly $5 Movie deals, they have some music deals, which are rare for them. All three Eagles concerts (Hell Freezes Over, Farewell I Tour and Live from the Forum MMXVIII) and Fleetwood Mac's The Dance. Unfortunately, the two best selections (Hell Freezes Over and The Dance) are in SD. But they're so iconic, I had to pick them both up anyways (still have the DVDs somewhere). Easier to accept at $4 real cost -- just bought a third $50 VUDU GC for $40 @ Amazon

If there is a greater moment of raw honesty in a musical performance than Stevie Nicks singing Silver Springs to Lindsey Buckingham, I haven't seen it.

Crap, I’ve been wanting Hell Freezes Over for a while. It takes me back to the days of concert DVDs like this and James Taylor Live at the Apollo were used as home-theater demos. I just bought all of those plus Stevie Nicks 24 Karat Gold.

Vudu has been promoting more music titles lately, especially from Sony.

Also available: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers : Running Down A Dream. 4 hours long and in HDX. I have the DVD set from Best Buy, but for that price I jumped.

I absolutely love "The Dance" I saw it when it originally aired on VH1 back in 1997. An excellent concert special. Stevie, Lindsey and Christine McVie (RIP) all looked and sounded great.

I have it on CD and I think I also have it on DVD somewhere as well.

Watched the preview clips of those concerts, they look like ass. Specs say they aren’t even in 5.1. Fleetwood Mac’s The Dance on laserdisc in AC-3 is a near-reference title. (I could upload it on YouTube with good picture quality at least, but it’d get pulled.)

Re: The Fandango at Home (Vudu) Thread - News, Bargains & Codes

I think it looks soft, SD. I would not say it 'looks like ass' though. Looks like a DVD.

Now that it’s getting hard to find catalog movies that I want, these music titles are my kryptonite,

I picked up Kung Fu: The Complete series (CW version) that was $9.99

Granted, it's not a lot of episodes for the price. 3 seasons and 39 episodes. But I liked the show and it had several attractive female leads. Olivia Liang, Shannon Dang and Yvonne Chapman.

Regarding "The Dance" That was filmed in 1997 pre-HD. And I recall it was 4:3 formatted for pan and scan TVs. I think they basically shot it with standard def TV cameras back then. You weren't going to get a "great" image by today's standards.

Some more have been added. They're all in the $5 Rarely On Sale section. Among the new additions : Long Strange Trip (4 hour Grateful Dead documentary), Jackson Browne - I'll Do Anything, Doobie Brothers Live from the Beacon Theater, Avenged Sevenfold- Live in the LBC, and Josh Groban - Stages Live (Broadway songs). I'm looking at picking up all those, save Avenged Sevenfold, and that Stevie Nicks one I missed.

Re: The Fandango at Home (Vudu) Thread - News, Bargains & Codes

Yes, it was shot on standard def video, but it looked good.

Someone DID get away with putting the whole show on YouTube, ripped from the DVD, but this isn’t how it’s supposed to look:

I’ll have to transfer just one song from the laserdisc and put that up, my computer has been processing something else for an upload right now. Standard def video can look very good when done right.

Re: The Fandango at Home (Vudu) Thread - News, Bargains & Codes

^ I look forward to seeing that!

I also found Green Day : Bullet in a Bible (American Idiot Tour). That is HDX.
I went and bought Bowie : A Reality Tour even though it's SD because I do love that show. It's a bummer but at least it looks okay in the trailer. I watched the trailer for Coldplay Live 2003 and that SD transfer looked AWFUL (plus had that terrible shaky handheld video that was popular at the time and always gives me a headache).

I bought the Groban last week. I’ll take another pass through.

I randomly ran across another music title recently, an Andrea Bocelli Italian travelogue. I like Bocelli fine but haven’t listened to him that much, but the footage looked so gorgeous that I was interested. Maybe if it goes on sale someday.
