Not too sure I streamed a free superhero title, but I got the deal.

Not a lot for me this weekend. But another recommendation for anyone who might have never seen it : A Simple Plan is an absolute masterpiece. Such a well made and effective film. Loved the book but I love the movie even more. Well worth a blind buy at $4.99

I disc to digital converted it two weeks ago. If I had known I could have waited and saved a penny.

Picking up the Odd Couple was an easy call for me. Never got around to buying it on Blu, and it appears to be out of print.

Is there a place on the forum where you can trade or buy VUDU codes?

Paramount has a pretty good deal that they are running through Walmart. Buy one of their DVD titles for $5.50 and you get to pick 3 HD titles on VUDU. The choices are below:

Thanks for the heads-up. It was enough to get me to my local Wal-Mart for the first time in a few years, I started with three, but only generated two codes, So that took me an extra 30 minutes or more to straighten out. Seems that 48 Hours won't generate a code. I returned them all up front and bought them again individually. That's how I found it out. Returned 48 Hours a second time, bought Juice instead and got my third code. Used them on the nine most recent titles below. Might go back for one more code as there were pobably three more that I didn't own but still would like (Escape from L.A. for sure, maybe Blue Chips)

And now VUDU will have original programming. Starting with Mr Mom Series.

https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/details/Mr-Mom-Season-1/

Synopsis:
This modern take on the classic '80s film follows a mom who is reentering the workforce and a dad who decides it's his turn to stay at home with the kids. What could possibly go wrong?

I got Tootsie in the weekend sale, but oddly it hasn’t shown up in my other MA accounts.

I was tempted by Excalibur and Fame in the ‘80s sale, but there’s a non-zero chance that I have them on BD somewhere, and I’m pretty sure I at least have DVDs that I can convert at the same $5 price.

Am I the only one who saw the failed Mr. Mom network sitcom pilot that aired in 1985? Just hope this doesn't dumb down Vudu, commercials are OK when it's free but give me a quality presentation when I'm paying.

They've added eligibility on a lot of Fox titles to the disc to digital service, including (surprisingly) Star Wars: A New Hope.

I should try my 500 Days of Summer again. I figured it was a weird rerelease or something.

We have one here: https://forum.dvdtalk.com/streaming-...on-thread.html

There's a a few spreadsheets that track them, one is maintained by this thread on br com:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...wpost&t=289750

UPC's are for informational purposes only...
These generally don't work great on mobile devices. Doable, but easier in a browser.
blu-ray user's (updated regularly):

Zu Nim (blu-ray.com / MeWe) - Sortable by date. No UPC's but tells you if it Mobile (M2D) or use the Vudu to go app to scan the disc (D2D) or both

The code only works 3 times, so you are tapped out. Also, Pretty in Pink is another one of the problem DVDs that doesn't generate a code.

When I try to scan the Blu Ray UPC for A New Hope it tells me it’s $5 to convert for HDX, $2 for SD. Usually it just does those prices for DVDs, while blus give a $2 for HDX option. Anyone else having this problem?

I've had similar problems with titles. I've done both the following methods to get it corrected.

Call customer support and then send all your pictures etc to a case# they will set up. They then credit your account with the difference once proven you have the Blu. Then you convert at the higher price and the credit drips it to the right price.

If it is off hours and support is closed, you could convert anyway. Then review your balance history for the conversion. It should show Blu to HD with the higher price. Take a screenshot of that and start a new case via VUDU 's website. Attach the screenshot of the incorrect price and pictures of the disc, case, UPC, etc showing you converted the correct title. This time the credit will be after the purchase so you can use it on your next purchase.
