Isn't it pretty much only Vudu now that uses UV, since FandangoNow stopped?

You can still redeem a UV code on FandangoNow. There's still an option for it, although it does say regarding Fox, "Fox titles not eligible".

Do those redemptions transfer to Vudu via UV? Or do they transfer via MA? Do they show up in your UV account?

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Not sure, I haven't redeemed any UV in a while. My guess is that they'd follow the usual route - that is if the movie is available on UV and MA, it'll port to those accordingly. If it's only UV, probably just FN and Vudu as well as in our UV account.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Redeeming/purchasing:

VUDU - If the title is UV it ports to UV locker. If MA it ports to MA ecosystem. If UV/MA ports to both.

FandangoNOW - If UV it ports to UV. If MA it ports to MA. If UV/MA it only ports to MA.

Incoming:

VUDU - accepts porting in from both UV and MA. VUDU passes UV to MA but not MA to UV.

FandangoNOW - Accepts porting in from both UV and MA -BUT- will set your resolution to what comes from MA even if you have a higher res in UV. Does not pass UV to MA nor MA to UV.

Listings:

VUDU - shows if a title is UV, MA, or UV/MA.

FandangoNOW - shows if a title is UV exclusively. If a title is MA exclusively or UV/MA, only lists MA.

Which studios are exclusively MA? I was under the impression it was just Disney, but maybe that's changing.

I wish the '80s sale were two for $10 instead of three for $20.

Agreed. I have most of the titles already, but the ones I want, not the best price point for me.

Why not just use VUDU M2D/D2D. It's much cheaper than 3 for $20. I believe 20 titles from the lists are HDX($2) & 9 are Dvd/$5.

Disney is the only one which is 100% MA-only.

However, there are increasingly new releases from Sony, Fox, and Universal which are MA-only. I think Warner is the only one that has continued to do dual UV/MA for all of its new releases, but even that might possibly be changing to MA-only with the upcoming releases of 12 Strong, The 15:17 to Paris, and Game Night.

Potentially expensive, both My Name is Earl and Anger Management on sale. We'll see what happens.

I'd be in for a good price on Fawlty Towers. Also, I see some Mel Brooks on the list but it'd be nice to have a cheap bundle.

I would have been interested in Fawlty Towers if they had S2 on sale too.

Yeah, I got season 1 for $4.99 but passed on season 2. It's a little annoying, but at least I can watch The Germans and other gems.

A lot of them I don't have on BD. I could convert Fame now that you mention it, and Risky Business I only have on DVD, which is still better than three for $20.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

A number of britcoms on sale, but they're still fairly expensive given that they're like 6-7 30 minute episodes. Still, Fawlty Towers S1, Blackadder S1 and League of Gentleman are all worth it, IMO.

Also, at $5, The Good Place is a steal.

Edit: Also, Come Fly With Me is only $2.

I ended up finishing off My Name is Earl (at $5 a pop, it was hard not to) and then snatched up the bundle for Chappelle's Show which was $10.99. So I spent a little over $20. The Anger Management prices were still ridiculous unfortunately. I'm not paying $12-$20 for a season, I'm just not.

The old me would have bought this before finishing your sentence.

The new me is trying to explain to myself that I already own it all in multiple formats, AND that Trek will always be streaming on one of the main services.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Vudu has a $9.99 and under horror sale -- lots of stuff is for $4.99, as well. Happy Death Day is $4.99 and so is Tales from the Hood - in HDX, fyi.
