I have tried on multiple devices and it happens across devices.
It's not my internet ... I've had Netflix freeze up and then switch over to Amazon and watch the same thing just fine.

If I stop something, they don't even let me go back to watching it! Seriously. If I try to go back to watching something or watch it a second time, it will play for 8 seconds and freeze up.

Two BluRay players (a Samsung and a Magnavox), an iPad, an XBOX360, and multiple Kindles. Same result on all.

I've never had that issue on my Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 or Roku 3.

I've never had that problem. I am always able to resume. I have used a Samsung BluRay, Sharp smart TV, Rokus (HD, 2, and 3), D-Link streaming device, Galaxy 7, and multiple PCs. I can start on any one of them and resume on another.

BTW, for those with VPN services, Netflix debuted this week in six European countries: Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg. My VPN provider has all 6 countries available

Ubuntu Linux users no longer need to employ arcane workarounds to watch Netflix on their computers.

Refusing to be intimidated by HBO’s announcement of a standalone streaming service, Netflix has escalated the streaming conflict into an all-out war. Shortly after the HBO news hit the Internet this morning, Netflix sent out a press release trumpeting its acquisition of “all 10 seasons, 236 episodes and 83 hours” of Friends. “Could this BE any better?,” the press release asks, looking around expectantly with a big grin smeared across its face.
Sure, HBO has dragons, and John Oliver, and all the movies you kind of wanted to see last fall but couldn’t be bothered to go to the theater for, and depressing original documentaries about how fucked up the world is. But are these shows really your Friends? Do they know you like Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe, and Joey do? Will they be there for you when the rain starts to fall? Will they care enough to ask, “Are you still watching Friends?,” after you fall asleep on the couch, a half-eaten Tombstone pizza resting on your chest? Netflix thinks you already know the answer.
The complete series of Friends will be available for streaming on Netflix beginning January 1, 2015.

Is Netflix still the future? The "freshness" of Netflix's catalog is wearing thin. If it weren't for playing it in the background while working, I'd consider cancelling. But I like to flip between music and Netflix.
I still think that "streaming" is great. Even when paying Amazon to "rent" a few movies a week, you're still at $100-or-so per month. And you have access to thousands of films.
Right now, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon, together, can be used to create one really nice on-demand library of titles. Each has it's own quality issues. But I've never been too privy on that perfect presentation. And it's far cheaper than building a Blu-Ray collection that's going to be obsolete in a few years.
Since getting rid of my physical collection, I miss "commentaries" more than anything else.

It's one thing Hulu does right - randomly linking episodes together, makes it like watching TV.
