Actually I'm the idiot. I apologize to my buddy who was referring to SG-1.

Talked to Amazon and they said they are working on it and gave me a $3 credit, so I'm happy as a clam.

One thing I hate about Netflix is they don't give much notice when shows are going to be removed

Agreed. Did I mention how annoyed I was that Stargate: SG-1 and FarScape were unceremoniously dropped?

I would keep a lookout for a possible marathon on AMC prior to season 3 starting. Season 3 will start sometime this summer.

Or if your desperate and don't mind spending $20, you can buy/stream season 2 off Amazon Instant video in SD.

Amazing that you are one of the very very few people who enjoyed season 1 without shitting on it. I liked it too, but it got shit on like crazy because of the finale.

They're taking forever to put up the fifth season of Mad Men too.

Actually I did check and S2 will start showing on AMC end of March. I so didnt want to wait that long!!! But oh well, I can't wait! Never in my life have I watched 13 eps of anything in two days. It helped that I am sick, but I was so entranced. I really thought it would conclude and we would have a definitive answer to who the killer was, but I was ok with it. I was just so fucking engrossed. Literally, just kept watching and watching without any distractions or anything. It was wonderful everyone left me alone. I don't think I will ever do something like this again, but what a way to begin and possibly end.
Fantastic characters, intricately woven story and keeps you guessing til the bitter end.
Just interesting and highly fascinating story telling.

You can look up the show on instantwatcher.com and it will tell you when the current contract expires.

If you've got a Roku, check out the Instant Watch Browser for Netflix. It lists all the Movies and TV Shows expiring within the next 4 weeks. It can also sort your Queue by expiration date.

Digital Trends posted an interesting comparison of the Big 3 services:

Netflix Instant vs. Hulu Plus vs. Amazon Instant Video

Re: General Streaming Thread (Netflix, Amazon, Redbox...)

There doesn't seem to be a Notable Google Play thread, so I'll just stick this here. For the store's birthday today they're offering a bunch of TV episodes for free, a mix of older and new stuff.

https://play.google.com/store/movies...feature=banner

There's some good stuff on there. (Justified, Happy Endings, Community, Monty Python)

Netflix also announced that season 3 will be exclusively on Netflix Instant three months after the season finale airs.

Re: General Streaming Thread (Netflix, Amazon, Redbox...)

Wired has a huge article on Netflix. It focuses mostly on the upcoming Arrested Development show, creating original content, how they choose titles, and their streaming business in general. Lots of interesting stuff. It's too big to post here, so check it out at Wired:

http://www.wired.com/underwire/2013/03/netflix/

Here's some excerpts:

(Netflix) outbid Showtime for the right to revive the show; it agreed to pay about $3 million per 30-minute episode, about as much as it costs AMC to make an entire hour of Breaking Bad. In May Netflix will release all 14 new episodes of Arrested Development at once.
Three times as many Americans subscribe to Netflix’s streaming service as to its DVD-by-mail offering, and about 70 percent of what they watch is television. Overall, 33 million subscribers stream more than a billion hours of Netflix content every month, using one-third of peak US bandwidth to do so.
Netflix loses money every time it converts a DVD renter into a streamer. Thanks to the high cost of licensing content and delivering streams, Netflix makes a profit of just about $4 per quarter off each US streaming customer, versus about $15 from every DVD subscriber.
Netflix is investing about $300 million in original programming over the next three years, 5 percent of its $6 billion content budget for that period.

Re: General Streaming Thread (Netflix, Amazon, Redbox...)

24 of Akira Kurosawa's films are available for streaming on Hulu all weekend, free, with commercials. Hulu+ subscribers can watch them all ad-free.

If I have time, I might check out one or two...
