So will this work if you have HBOGO on your phone and HBOGO is not supported by Comcrap on Roku? Just mirror your phone to the Roku?

My GOD, CinemaNow sucks! The interface is much prettier than the one on my TV, which just displays the scrolling box art, but it takes literally a MINUTE to load up my library, and then it won't play anything in 5.1 sound. They seem to be using DTS now instead of Dolby, so newer titles on my TV only play in 2-channel but older ones still play in Dolby; on the Roku though EVERYTHING is only in 2-channel! The interface is so goddamn slow it's not worth using anyways. You're right Best Buy, streaming is the future, keep getting rid of those pesky discs...

What are the options for watching the NHL on Roku? Want to watch the Blackhawks and Rangers, I am in the New York City market. Unfortunately this excludes NHL Gamecenter, as all the Ranger games would be blacked out. I looked into Hockeystreams that looks promising. Anyone have it and can commen on the quality? Seems good as I wouldn't ahve to deal with blackouts, and it costs less than the official channel. I also saw that someone had made a channel that pulled feeds from Reddit, but that apparently stopped working some time last season.
Anyone have any thoughts?

I'm not a sports fan, but was amazed to see some sample clips on the NHL Roku app that were at true 30 frames per second just like live TV, instead of the more-common jerky frame rate of most internet video.

Isn't most U.S. TV shot at 24 FPS then converted to 30 via pulldown?

LIVE stuff like sports and news is 30 fps, though I see a lot of stuff on the news now that's taken from online video, and the lower framerate as well as crappy resolution really shows. It doesn't look like many sitcoms these days are shot at 30fps anymore (they tend to use a digital format that looks very close to film), but soaps still are from what I've seen. Regardless, there's plenty of videotaped material on Netflix (like Family Ties, and Saved by the Bell if that's still on there) which is shown at a more film-like frame rate and just looks wrong. I thought that was an inherent problem with internet video, but NHL and oddly enough an adult video service (Sugar DVD) displayed video at the right frame rate on my Roku. If a porn service can do it, don't know why Netflix and Vudu can't.

It's just like a Roku box, but it's a dongle that plugs right into an HDMI port (needs a WiFi connection). It can draw its power from a USB port on your TV or from a regular outlet. Great portability.

Roku stick is great for portability, but the interface is *really* slow, and some of the apps take 2 to 3 times longer to load. If that doesn't matter to you then by all means go for that over the box.

So I pulled the trigger and signed up for hockeystreams. So far, it seems to be as advertised. Quality wise it depends on your internet connection. I usually get about 8 Mbps on a speedtest during primetime, and for the most part the picture looks real good. Occasionaly I will see the picture get jerky for a split second, almost like it is in slow motion, then come right back. Picture looks good. Maybe not full 1080p but defintiely HD. Nice to not have to worry about blacked out games, and being able to choose which feed you want to watch. All in all I recommend it.

On a side note, anyone have any luck finding a travel case that works well with the roku 3? I know some people just put all the pieces in a bag, but I was spoiled by Western Digital offering a nice zippered blowmolded case for the WDTV that I used to use.

Is Hockeystreams legal? Why would the NHL or AHL allow for someone else to stream their games when they have their own streaming services?

I keep the Roku in the top right-hand pouch, and the remote, power cable, an RCA R/W/Y cable and a travel router in the left-hand nylon area. That part on the lower right with the memory cards is a "page" that is held down by a velcro tab and it can be turned to the left to reveal an open storage area - that's where my HDMI cable goes and a short (1') RJ-45 patch cable in case I need to hard-connect either the router or the Roku to something. I take a Roku 1 with me when I travel... inexpensive enough to not fret losing it while traveling, and it has both HDMI and RCA connections to cover those rare cases when I have a hotel TV that has no HDMI ports.

Exacly what I was looking for. Ordered. Thank you. Now I just need to get another power cord for the Roku, so I don't have to keep unplugging the cord every time I want to take it with me.

Found that link in my searching the other day. It is what I was looking for, just too expensive. The 10.50 one will work fine for me.

MLB forced OOTP Developments(Germany) too stop using MLB logo's in their Simulation Baseball game. It finally happened on this year's version(OOTP15) of the game.

I know that's not the same as streaming but I'm sure the NHL is aware of the situation and probably are trying to get that streaming site shutdown. Probably boils down too how much money it would cost and it might be cost prohibitive.

How do you play on the Youtube Channel video's from your playlist?

What's a playlist(don't see anything on the webpage). I have subscribed to video's but how to you add them to your playlist then play them on their Roku Channel?

I just have "favorites" and another playlist for 3D videos. Under the video info, there's a big "+" that says "Add to", click on that. The Roku interface is still a little awkward though.

Can you have more than one Roku device for Youtube? I have it working on one tv(can't find playlist). I have added some through my computer my its hard to figure out on the Roku Channel. It plays them in order they were first selected.
