Tales From the Loop on Amazon Prime. I’m not really sure if this is a first season or a one and done series. If there IS a season 2 I don’t see how they could do it without a completely new cast. Either way, I found it utterly captivating and extremely well-made.

The King of Staten Island...this was decent. a little long in the tooth. the only one who didn't seem to be acting was Davidson. seemed the most real and genuine, since probably bc, he's not a real actor. but, he did a very good job. this is definitely not a comedy. much more serious drama. coming of age story too. not bad, not among Apatow's best. Funny People still holds that for me. TKoSI is probably the most sentimental and knowing it is based on Davidson's real life made it more poignant. but, that last scene in particular when the Kid Cudi's song Pursuit of Happiness which i loved already, but at that time, that moment, that last look. it really worked.

In the last week or so I’ve watched S4 of 13 Reasons Why, The Vast of Night, Have a Good Trip: Adventures in Psychedelics, and am about halfway through The Midnight Gospel. I’ve enjoyed all of it.

Why is this thread still a thing when we have the movie and TV watching threads? Seems redundant.

Palm Springs...Absolutely amazing. Best rom-com since Crazy Rich Asians, but much smaller film. It was the highest paid for movie at Sundance this year. Just perfect! So enjoyable and Samberg and Milioti were so delightful together. Very reminiscent of another favorite of mine, Wristcutters: A Love Story. Love and have seen that one so many times. I have a feeling, Palm Springs will be similar. Going in cold was best way to go. Thoroughly enjoyed. Just pure fun, updates conventions and borrows from others. Worked so well. This is a must, especially during this time. I wasn’t even going to finish in one sitting, but couldn’t help it. I mean only lean 83 minutes without credits, but I was going to watch a little, but became utterly and compulsively hooked.

The Babysitter: Killer Queen...this was a lot of fun. certainly not as good as the original and i didn't expect it to be so, but i also didn't expect it to be as much fun as it was. the set up was great. the kid playing Cole was great and tell me the girl playing Melanie is not the younger version of Samara Weaving? Phoebe is cute as hell and it just brought the over-the-top gore like the first and i was pleasantly surprised, especially with the little twist at the end. definitely down for more if they keep generally the same formula. and did anyone catch the Pee Wee's Big Adventure reference when Phoebe exited the big rig and said "and I'll be sure to thank Large Marge" or something to that effect? i thought that was fun and probably a blink and you missed it reference and i don't think i have seen Pee Wee's Big Adventure in at least 20 years, but always remembered Large Marge for some reason. that was fun. just a fun movie all around.

Inseminoid - 1981 - on Midnight Pulp
It was actually pretty decent. I wonder if this movie was the thing that inspired a particular insemination fetish?

Becky...absolutely bat shit insane, but in a very good way. such a grisly movie that really takes you by surprise. i mean it's hard to root for a 13 year-old who clearly turns psychotic, even when the movie is done, but it sure was fun watching the transformation. Kevin James wasn't bad, but the girl who played Becky was really good and the movie is a fun, B-movie murderous romp.
