Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

The critically acclaimed (92% on rottentomatoes) artsy kinky lesbian S&M movie The Duke of Burgundy has been added.

I remember this one from it's super subtle poster:

Spoiler:

Iris (documentary about Iris Apfel) and The Dropbox (documentary about discarded babies and adoption in S. Korea) were also added

Man on Wire is up. One of the best docs I've seen.

Perfectly timed with the new Zemeckis film too, deals with the same event.

I don't, and probably never will, understand the praise for Man on Wire.

American Horror Story: Freak Show, The Flash S1, iZombie S1, Last Man Standing S4, The Originals S2, and Tremors 5: Bloodline were added today.

Has anyone seen word of Constantine coming to Netflix or any other streaming service soon? (Yes, I googled before asking)
It's not even available on the NBC app.

Anyone seen Legends? Looks interesting. And in the same vein as Person Of Interest (38 episodes down, 52 episodes to go). During Game of Thrones (which admittedly S1 was about 4 years ago) Sean Bean was looking kinda chunkier. Seems to have slimmed back down (and having gotten chunkier myself (ahhhh blissful engaged life ) I was inspired by the noticeable slimming).

I watched Legends last year on TV. It's an FBI action procedural for the most part. They do have some serialized elements.

It's only 10 episodes, so it's not a huge time commitment.

You asked this in another thread and as Rocket indicated nobody in NA have video rights. Celestial owns the worldwide rights to the Shaw Brothers catalog and they have been focusing on VOD and streaming. Hulu has different Shaw Brothers movies but they are dubbed. I like the fact that Netflix shows them in their original language.

I do wish that Netflix would one day get the rights to Nip/Tuck back. I never finished the final season and never got around to watching it when it was on Netflix. Kind of mad at myself for procrastinating so long and then it was gone.
If you subscribe to a service like Unblock-Us, you could finish watching Nip/Tuck on Netflix Canada.

Thanks for the headsup

I actually have a VPN on my Ipad and it works surfing these other Netflix regions. I'll check it out when I get a chance.

Watch First Teaser for Netflix's A Very Murray Christmas
By Lauren Loudermilk | October 14, 2015 | 11:20am

Sofia Coppola, Bill Murray and Mitch Glazer are bringing A Very Murray Christmas to Netflix this December. An homage to variety shows, the special follows Murray as he prepares for his TV show the same night a snow storm hits New York City. Murray, playing himself, worries no one will be able to get there, but, ultimately, guests including Amy Poehler, Michael Cera, Chris Rock, Jenny Lewis, Rashida Jones and Miley Cyrus show up to the Carlyle to sing and dance.

The cast also features George Clooney, Paul Shaffer, Julie White, Dimitri Dimitrov, David Johansen, Maya Rudolph, Jason Schwartzman, the band Phoenix, Frederic Moulin and more.

A Very Murray Christmas premieres on Netflix Dec. 4, but watch the star-studded teaser above.

This comes out around the time that I send on my Christmas mix to friends and family. I may have to reserve a spot for a last minute Bill Murray Christmas song.

I was watching it on Hulu, but I'm not sure if it is still there.

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

The Netflix "Same day as theaters" experiment begins today with Beast of No Nations:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/2xb9Ty-1frw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Written/Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective S1's director), starring Idris Elba. Currently sitting at 90% on RottenTomatoes (7.9 / 10.0 average) with 61 reviews.

Note: "Same Day as Theaters" for a US release that is, St. Vincent (w/ Bill Murray) was released day and date in France, along with The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby -- but neither of those are Netflix original movies. Impressive trailer for a $6m budgeted flick.

FYI

"Back in Time" a new 92 minute documentary on the making of Back to the Future should be available tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't think I heard about this documentary.
