Uhhh, this thread is 5 years old and El Rey was already dropped from several cable providers. Not sure why you bumped this.

I would like to see more SB films. Elrey plays the same ones all the time.

Netflix and Amazon Prime have various remastered Shaw Bros films from Celestial. Pictures Some are in their original language and others are dubbed.

It seems that El Rey Network is no more in 2021.

^Prior to ditching Direct TV, I had already pretty much given up on El Rey. In those final days, it seemed like the channel couldn’t afford any more movies and in its place were constant AIRWOLF reruns along with that Wrestling show (Forgot what it was called)

But I’ll never forget all the martial arts films that they once provided. Hell, I’m thankful for all the complete franchises they showed that I didn’t have interest in seeing, but watched anyway! i.e, Kickboxer, The Prophecy & Puppet Master.

Bummer. The good news is that RR is not poor and is in with Disney going forward. Hell, he's in with Netflix and who knows who else. I'm sure that's more lucrative than running the network. I did love it, though.

I'm sure this network didn't make a dime. The fact that it lasted 7 years airing 2 original shows, old 80s show, Kung Fu movies, wrestling, and various old syndicated shows, I'm amazed it survived as long as it did.

I think Rodriguez's initial plan to make a place for Americans with latin-american heritage, wasn't a stupid idea. The content didn't fit the description and so it never lived up tom Rodriguez's dream. I really liked his show The Director's Chair, though.
