All I did was post what my feelings were on the issue, but it seems like some (you actually seem like a decent person Deadman31, well the last post was a bit sarcastic) cannot discuss things in a civil and mature manner without retorting to attacks or just plain inane posts. Intelligent dialogue is a thing of the past it looks like, but in the end it is nothing more than a reflection on the character and intelligence of the poster who decides to post the ridiculous.

All sarcasm was intended. Im a firm believer in expressing yourself. Im also a firm believer in sticking up for yourself. A certain amount of frustration sets in when you try to make somebody see something you way and they cant. That is something I have to work on to better myself. All I wanted to do was express my happiness with my deal, with Amazon and share it with you guys. to be labeled a thief and all the other things I was labeled shows that nobody in these forums is interested in something unless they can put it down

Hey all. Back in December, I got a $15 gc for Amazon.com from Mycereal.com. I used it on my preorder of Clerks:Animated series. Total came to $8 and some change. Yesterday I have received my shipping notice, and there was no mention of the gc(the total was now $23. I emailed Amazon and notified them of the problem. Well, they credited my credit card the $15 they owed me and gave me another $15 in my account balance. So for about $20 I ended up with
Clerks: Animated Series
Pi
Southie(for my woman)
Not bad huh? Gotta love screwups like that

actually, purplechoe, it does help you. If you ever arrive in a similar situation, you will be able to draw on experiences of others in order to decide on the proper course of action.
Oh, and by the way, thanks for posting, NOT. You're comments were of real value.

Deadman, You really shoundn't talk about these things in open forums, because there are amazon.com reps scanning these boards, which could lead to trouble, and less gc's for us.

I can't believe this thread has gone on for this long! Deadman31 did nothing dishonest. He was fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of Amazon's intended generosity. Not once did he say he pissed and moaned until they placated him with a GC, they offered! You people are unreal... Deadman31, I hope this doesn't discourage you from posting in the future for fear of a morality lashing.
I can agree with the lack of relevance to a bargain but if it's in the wrong forum an admin will move it. If it's inappropriate they will close it. If you could give a rat's a** what he has to say move on and the post will drop off the charts. I have seen far more worthless posts than some guy posting his excitement over his good fortune that do not get a second thought.
So cut him some slack and move on. Had Amazon not given him a GC and just corrected the billing error I doubt this guy would pitch a fit to their CS. But since they did send him a GC his options are
1) Use it.
2) Destroy all traces of it for fear of what ramifications it may have on the universe.
3) Give it away to you people who would gladly use it without any thought as to its origin(despite all the above vilifying).
Use it and don't think twice about it.

Why should Deadman be discouraged from posting? This is an open forum and by it's very nature means there are going be different views and opinions. If you cannot handle what others think then post elsewhere. Trust me, the internet allows you to do this. People can agree to disagree but do not need to turn to childish retorts, but maybe thats expecting too much....

It would be one thing if Deadman received a duplicate item. However, Amazon has a history of giving $10 - $15 credits as a way of making up for their mistake in hopes of keeping you as a loyal customer. This used to be standard practice in retail. When I worked in customer service at a grocery store, we tended to give out gift certificates to customers who had legitimate complaints.
If Amazon did not have this history, I would agree with you, but a search of the forums will reveal that many people have received extra credit in their Amazon accounts when Amazon has made an error. One of the reasons why their CS is among the best.
