the same thing happened to me today. I called and the woman said she could find a
list of orders on their computers so I shouldn't worry. After this happened, one
of the orders that had disappeared infact
showed up as shipped this afternoon. It looks
like everything should work out ok, but I would still like to see the satus of the other unshiped (invisible) orders. Items
that are listed as "usually ship within 24 hours" should not be taking this long to ship.

I am still waiting on my 11/21 shipment. It sat in shipping soon status for 5 days, and I called and got to a manager's manager who had the original order killed and placed a new one.
Get order confirmation on the new order and Gladiator is not on it, it ships with no f-ing tracking # and to top it all off, some guy calls me to say he got my original shipment. It sucks that this guy has my personal info, my DVD's and amazon has my money.
Cinemaphile7 do you live in Toronto??
Thanks
Jason

Well I just checked, and all my orders have disappeared! Even my previously shipped orders are no longer on Amazon's system.
This worries me, I have a lot of pre-orders with my GCs, and they're no longer visible, although my GC account has all the credit I had on these orders deducted.....

Lately, (last two shipments) I have received NO SHIPPING NOTICES from amazon. Also, despite them putting a Fernley, NV warehouse return address on the first of the two items, UPS showed it was shipped from San Fernando, CA (distributor location).
Is amazon lowering it's inventory to boost profits? Is it now using distributors to ship? Anyone know? This could be a very rough holiday season if they are outsourcing to less reliable providers.<HR>

Whew, I thought it was just my order. I had ordered 5 DVD's and a book. All the DVD's (which included Legend) were either already released or were to be released on the 21st. I have been e-mailing them about why it hasn't shipped and at first I thought I was getting good service, but after reading this thread, I realize I am getting canned responses. My order (without Legend) now says "shipping soon", so we will see what that means.
In my opinion, the internet of the future will pretty much be informational. I have no faith in e-tailing. I love how much I pay for DVD's on the net, but with the way Best Buy has been behaving with preorders lately, there is no reason to buy online when you have to wait and wait for this much time after street date...

DVD Talk Legend
i complained a few times in emails about the shipping delays and they credited back my shipping cost. I know it was only 3.96 but it was at least something for the delay. I guess this puts them that much closer to running out of money

When i read this thread i was concerned and checked my Account. Every order still shows up and nothing has been changed. Yesterday i received the Beastie Boys CC DVD and it took "only" 7 Days. From the US to Switzerland not bad! I`m still happy with Amazon and didn`t have any problem with them lately!

I finally got Chicken Run and Gladiator last night... only 9 days from the time they claim they shipped them. I'd be pissed if I didn't get them with freeride GCs.

Well, I'm glad I read this thread! I definitely will not be placing an order through Amazon, free shipping or not. I was concerned with the phrase on the order page that said they would hold your order until all items were available. I wanted to see if anyone knew if they would actually ship as the movies were released. This answers my question very nicely.

I finally got a response to the e-mail I sent regarding my still missing MI 2 order (placed 9/22). The response said I could call to confirm my info (complaint e-mail sent from a different e-mail address than account is registered in) and they would issue a replacment order.
I called in yesterday and a replacement order was issued. It hasn't shipped yet though, so we'll see.

This is crazy. No postal notice today for my Amazon order of X-men!!!!! No response to my e-mail. So I called, the CSR said for some reason there was no tracking # to my order $@$#*&! She said that she would send me a replacement today. I DON'T want a replacement, I want Hugh Jackman in my DVD player now!!!! So it's been 10 days with no DVD, now I should wish upon a star that the replacement will come before 2001? If I knew it would be this complicated I would have bought the darn thing!!!

They haven`t send out my order with Gladiator, X-men and Perfect Storm yet as well. My order dissapeared from my account two days ago, but suddenly reappeared today.
But I wish they would send it out, my birthday was two days ago and I thought this package was the perfect gift from me to myself

Wow... I thought it was just me getting screwed... I'm glad I read all of this. They supposedly "upgraded" my shipping to priority U.S. mail and shipped on the 25th, however, I still have not received my 3 DVDs... This bites, I wish they had not done me the "favor" of "upgrading" my shipping as UPS usually delivers within 2 days of shipment... Guess I'll have to call as I can't get their website up at all.

I believe the problem is that Amazon has expanded the number of distibutors they are now using to fill orders. Even in the past, in many cases, your orders were actually shipping from a distributor, it's just from a distribution center that was better managed than some they are currently using.

Sh** this is what happens when I don't go to DVDTalk for some time.... I just placed 3 orders with Amazon. Even though I have had more than a few problems with them (many orders shipping way late, pre-orders arriving a week or two after the release date... one dvd order took one week of calling the CSR up, talking to an order specialist ten times and finally getting the head honcho who made it up by giving me the damn thing for free...)
Anyhow, I'll be checking my orders many times a day to see if I get screwed like you guys. Used a ton of the new $10 GCs and the $50 coupon code... without these I'd rather go to Onvia and gasp... CDLater.
P.S. UPS Sucks!! Waited for a damn package one day (tracking said it was to be delivered that day). Never arrived, then the next day the tracking said rescheduled.. USPS Rules.
