Does anyone have any experience ordering from www.digitaleyesdvd.com ?

I've searched the forum, but this store has not been discussed before.

Thanks, guys!

I have ordered from them once, and I will probably do it again. The only problem was that it took a couple of days before the final orderconfirmation was sent to me, but the movies arrived quite fast (I live in Sweden) and the prices were OK.

I've placed many orders with Digital Eyes and have been generally very pleased with them. Service is excellent.

Prices are 30% on pre-orders and 25% after they come out. They also have clearance sale titles.

Shipping could be improved--$2.90 for the first disc in a shipment and .95 for each additional no matter how or when you ordered it.

Hope this helps.

I ordered from them once. They cancelled one of the two products in my order, and then refused to apply a coupon because the order fell under their minimum, once they cancelled part of it. Then they sent me the wrong product, agreed to refund my purchase price (less shipping costs) once I sent it back. I sent it back and got no refund. I'll never use them again.

I've ordered from them for a year now and have had excellent service. I like how their website lets you know if an item is in or must be ordered. An order can take two days to a week to reach San Francisco from their Southern offices.

I've ordered quite a bit from them for the past three years. The only word to describe their service is EXCELLENT. HOC, are you sure you're talking about Digital Eyes? I have personally spoken with their owner (Mark) on several occasions. They have always been more than accomodating with special shipping requests etc... They were around before REEL, BUY and all those "super-Etailers" They somehow weathered the storm of all the coupons etc.. that had their competition selling below cost. Digital Eyes have always had something the other larger business have lacked. Cusomer Service. DVD's arrive ON street date more times than not. Now that the coupon days seem to be over, DE prices seem quite fair. Don't hesitate to give them a try. And HOC, give them another shot. I would even shoot Mark an email if I were you, He's a great guy and I'm sure he will do everything he can to win you over as a customer.

I agree their customer service is excellent. Great service esp as I live in the UK. Tends to work out a lot cheaper than the bigger etailers as they dont slap a huge delivery charge on orders.

I highly recommend them. Mark is a great guy.

Sorry guys, I don't agree that their customer service is excellent. Far from it.

After I registered and made an order for 2 DVDs, Mark sent me an email requesting for a fax which must contain my latest monthly statement, and images of the front and back of my credit card.

I replied saying that I don't have a fax at home, my office fax is not allowed for personal use, and I'm unable to send such images over. I told him that I have good credit standing with Amazon, and B & N. To prove that, I attached two shipping notices from Amazon, and B&N in that email. I also told him to check with his local branch of Citibank whether my credit card is in good standing, and whether my card number corresponds to both my home and shipping address which I supplied to Mark.

Three days later - no reply. I sent him an email requesting for a reply.

Another three days - no reply again. I sent Mark yet another eMail requesting very politely that I needed a reply.

Another week transpired, and I got real upset. I sent Mark a long eMail telling him that this is no way to conduct business. I told him that it was basic courtesy to at least give a reply.

Three days after that, I FINALLY got a reply from Mark, again repeating that I needed to send that fax with my credit card statement and images of my credit card.

I cancelled my order immediately, telling Mark that I would be better off buying from other on-line stores that were more responsive to their customer's emails. My conclusion was that I had wasted my time and effort waiting for his precious reply, when I could have easily ordered from other online stores.

Well, guys, you tell me if that's called good service.

I get the same type of service from Digital Eyes, although it wasn't about over credit card verification, but about other ordering matters. Conversations with them sound exasperatingly like Groundhog Day, except that *you* are in the same reality throughout!

For eg., I decided to cancel a few pre-order items in my order, and had to email them 3 times over 2 weeks, culminating in a threat to give them a bad report at BizRate, before they finally decided to acknowledge my request.

Another example: a particular title was on backorder with them for several months, and when I finally enquired about it, they coldly informed me that it was impossible to obtain, and then cancelled it from my order without the slightest hint of apology or regret. I got a bit pissed, so instructed that they cancelled all my pending orders and ship all in-stock items immediately, but after a week or so of non-reply, they finally sent a form letter indicating that my order had been shipped (YES, including the pre-orders I cancelled).

These EXAMPLES aren't even representative of the many other problems I've had with them so far.

But I wonder if this type of service is peculiar to Singapore (I'm also in Singapore) or Asia or something. Because most everyone else seems to be quite happy with them.
