My verdict is this:

They're fine if the order shipped with no problems. But if there are any problems at all, be prepared to be very angry and frustrated, with you perhaps threatening them in order to get your credit back. If you think that it does not sound bac, go for it. If you don't want to risk the hassle, then don't shop there. But I'm not going to give you a definite answer because this is something you'll have to decide for yourself.

Here is a line from my law book:

"If the seller is the merchant, the risk of loss does NOT pass to the buyer until the goods are received."

I have never received the goods. Thus, the merchant is violating the contract. This is a breach of contract.

How are you (presumably an honest person), distinguishable from a dishonest person who did receive their goods in the mail, but says they didn't?

You cannot prove the negative, ie. that you didn't receive the goods, unless you happen to have had an independent tv crew following you for every moment since you placed the order.

Do I need to point out that one isolated complaint does not mean Djangos are untrustworthy, just the contrary if all the other statements are to be believed and I can also add my own personal experience to that. Whenever I’ve had a problem, it was sorted/clarified that same day by friendly and efficient customer service, the same person you dealt with Grimfarrow.

I’m happy to recommend them to friends and colleagues.

While i agree that they offer good customer service, i just noticed that they have put up the prices on all (new)dvd. preorders used to be 25% off which with a coupon made it 40% plus free shipping. now there is barely 10% and the coupons are for used items only. What do we have to do to get some good prices and good c/s?

Of COURSE I can prove I did not receive the goods - I don't HAVE it!

I was right on the verge of reporting them to my credit card company and also some other consumer fairness organizations because of this. IF the guy did not say that he would give me my credit back (which isn't the only alternative - I would have preferred if the order actually ARRIVED - that's why I bought them in the first place!), I would have definitely reported them. If I was somehow "dishonest", do you think I would go ahead and get the law involved???? Please!

Moreover, I have ordered from Djangos.com many times before - this is not my first order. However, this is the first time I've had *problems* with my order. And the way they handled the situation when there is a problem is just plain abominable.

Well, good for you. Unfortunately, that did not happen to me. Just because everyone else did not have problems does NOT mean that they do not occur at all.

Paul.b, I mailed them about these price rises on Thursday and got this reply:

no the price that you see is the retail price, they will be changed as soon as the warehouse pulls there head out of there you know what..it shouldnt be much longer.

Hopefully they will return to their previous 25% off but it‘s been nearly 2 days now. I can’t see them keeping them at this barely 9% off permanently as your casual punter is not going to be drawn into shopping there on the basis of such a small discount.

Grimfarrow no-one is disputing you have had problems with your order, my (and others) point is that any such problems are dealt with quickly and efficiently and casting unwarranted aspersions on a decent company (who like all others are at the mercy of the postal service once it leaves their premises) does nobody any good. You maybe should have tempered your original post and thread title with a little restraint as your particular problem was solved 24 minutes after your first post. We’ve all suffered at the hands of lousy companies and I think even you should be able to tell from the testimony above that Djangos is held in relatively high regard.
