Speaking of which, it's great that Amazon posts a photo online of where your package was

A shout out to Amazon for offering to refund the return postage for a very heavy item for which they didn't supply a pre-paid label. As they should have.

They emailed me a pic from my delivery today. Our office was open but the delivery guy couldn't even be bothered to ring the buzzer right above where he dropped off the box.

^They NEVER ring the bell, these days. It's infuriating. Thankfully, I get a notification from my camera.

Re: The Complimentary Amazon Thread

I imagine the reason they don't ring the bell is to avoid the customer catching the driver and starting to ask questions thus slowing down the driver. Maybe it's policy now, especially with the proliferation of doorbell cams.

Re: The Complimentary Amazon Thread

Don't you get notified as soon as Amazon delivers your items? I get an email almost before the driver can get back to his truck.

Re: The Complimentary Amazon Thread

I get the app prompt. "Your delivery driver is 10 stops away." You can see it in real time (almost) if you view your order through the app. Sometimes they knock, sometimes they don't.

Yep, I like watching it so I can meet the driver outside as they drive up. Save them a trip to the door.

Re: The Complimentary Amazon Thread

1) their new electric vehicles are pretty cool.
2) Parts of my last few orders have arrived a day early, which could be seen as a complaint since I try to schedule delivery when I'm home so the driver can hand it to me (I'll meet the driver at their vehicle).

I haven't tried but I wonder if you add delivery instructions to "please ring doorbell when delivered" if they would comply? I've been tempted to do so but decided not to mess with the delivery since I'm generally home and also get almost immediate notice via email.

They usually hit the doorbell once but take off. I have a Nest but still prefer to meet them so they don't have to leave their vehicle.

Re: The Complimentary Amazon Thread

I guess I'll put this here. Amazon is starting an Amazon RX program on top of prime.
https://pharmacy.amazon.com/rxpass

Five bucks a month gets you all the eligible (generic) medications shipped to your door. No insurance needed or involved. Caveats are below, but that seems... like really really good for some people who take medication regularly?

I’m not eligible to subscribe to RxPass. Why?
RxPass does restrict eligibility based on insurance and the state where medications will be shipped. People with government-funded insurance such as Medicare or Medicaid are not eligible sign up for RxPass right now. Additionally, RxPass is not currently available to send medications to California, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington. Amazon Pharmacy is still available in all of those states.

Does RxPass work with insurance or an HSA/FSA?
Unfortunately, you cannot use an HSA or FSA to pay your RxPass subscription fee. RxPass is not insurance and is not a substitute for insurance.

Re: The Complimentary Amazon Thread

I don't order much from Amazon anymore, but have never really had a problem with them. Things show up when expected, or even early. The few items I've had to return were easy enough to do, even before I was able to start taking them to Kohl's to drop off. The only reason I don't use them much anymore is their prices are on par with other stores or local. I mostly use Amazon for things that I just can't find locally. I imagine that living in a major city makes the Amazon experience much better than in small towns. My parents live in a small town, and have issues with almost every order.

Re: The Complimentary Amazon Thread

Yesterday morning ordered 5 items. 1 will be delivered on Friday (wasn't something I needed right away) but 4 were delivered by 5pm yesterday.

eta: I went back to order and they also showed a 7am to 11am option, which I went with.

Holy shit! I just got a BD and CD on the day they were actually supposed to be delivered and neither had their cases shattered into a million pieces. I am thinking of going to buy a lottery ticket but I am not sure I should get too greedy, I might get hit by a car on the way.

Re: The Complimentary Amazon Thread

I'm happy as I received my order, due today, delivered at my door just before 7 AM. I've never had anything delivered that early.

Wow, the second single-item order was dropped around 7 AM. Had it waiting for me.

I was just given that timeframe option. I probably won't be up but at least it'll be delivered before it's supposed to rain in the evening.

Re: The Complimentary Amazon Thread

Compliment: I bought my dad a new smart watch and didn't consider that he wouldn't have any USB-C charging bricks. Selected one on Amazon and added one other thing to get the order above $25. Delivered that same day about 3 hours later. Got the watch charged and set up before dinner.

Re: The Complimentary Amazon Thread

I thought I edited my earlier post but I went back and not only had the 4-8am option but a 7-11am option popped up so I selected that one.

My packages arrived this morning at 5:48am anyway. But I was up when it was out for delivery.
