Eric F,

I have had similar experiences with UPS. I don't really enjoy going into the LA 'hood to get my stuff when there's a center a few miles away. But this is the worst - when I get a tracking number I call and ask them to hold it without making the first attempt. They politely refuse (company policy is that they must make one attempt to deliver). I politely explain, to no avail, that I'm trying to save them money (and my time). I'm guessing that in a few years they will start doing this - after they pay some management consulting company $1000/hr to 'streamline' their operation.

I agree with most of you guys. UPS stinks when it comes to service. I actually prefer to get stuff sent to me USPS because then I will actually get it. UPS has lost packages for me about 20% of the time. Their drivers have "forgotten" to leave notices on my door about 20% of the time also. When I call to get packages held for me, they tend to completely disregard it and leave it on the truck so I end up having to wait another day to get my package. Just today I went to UPS to pick up a package and I was the only one their. The lady behind the counter decided to not even acknowledge me, and went to do something else. I ended waiting for her to get back 15 minutes later. I've decided not to use UPS anymore because of their horrible service.

DVDjunkie,

Sorry for the delay. Yes I have had a few too many probs. with UPS in Tampa. Luckly two of them were able to be resolved (after a few hours on the phone and with stress), the other....was just a bad situation and would require me to go on a rant. Overall, with the frequency of UPS transactions, I can not say that they are the worst culprit out there, I suppose things are bound to happen with any company. I was disapointed by the CSR and how they had to place 3 codes on two occasions to have someone even call me back. This is a side I have never dealt with for USPS, FEDex or DHL.

I have got to tell you that the inevitable had to happen to me yesterday ! UPS came over to deliver my copy of "Frequency" and instead of "ringing" the doorbell ( guys it really doesn't take THAT much effort ! ) to let the people at home know they're there...NOOOOO!! They leave the "supposed" package at the front door without letting anyone else know about it ! Just fantastic UPS !! Now the package is missing in action and I'm stuck without my copy ! May someone at UPS read this and find a better way to train their employees as to the "How To" in dropping off packages to their respective destinations.
