this is a modified/abbreviated version of the story:

so, here i am enjoying my copy of Leon..

but 'lo.. there is an audio problem..

so i send an e-mail to CDNow about it.
"please send me a new version, mr. cdnow man."

they say, "okay. you send us the crap one."

i say, "okie dokie."

'lo and behold, mr. cdnow man reorders (NOT Leon) but the Criterion Collection Good Morning that was also in the order..

i e-mail mr. cdnow man again..

"look mr. cdnow man. you've screwed up. i want better service. compensate me. send me a new version of leon."

mr. cdnow man say, "okay. but you must send back Good Morning."

"sigh. alright."

i wait. cdnow package arrives.

open it to find...

Final Destination.. oh.. and even worse.. the packing slip says that it is for some woman in california and the packing slip is for VSTORE.COM!

i wants better service.

"look schmucks. your distributor screwed up this time. i want retribution for this crap.."

"okay, we'll reorder Leon for you and make sure that it is actually Leon this time."

"I WANT COMPENSATION FOR MY TROUBLES, AR$E!"

"you must send us Final Destination back."

"why should i? what is my incentive?"

"you must return Final Destination.."

click. phone has been disconnected.

get shipping notice for new copy of Leon.
actually receive Leon (finally)..

but today, another shipping notice arrived.. (did they send the same order twice? the notices have the same order numbers on them..)

i still have not sent back the other discs.. but that is due to other issues.. notably they are sending the return labels to my home address, while i am currently at my school address.. (*d'oh*)

so, will i get charged if i don't send them back? or can i just consider this a f-up on their part and get on with my life?

if somebody can answer that, i'd be a happy man..

i say boots up the ar$e of cdnow!

Dr,

The title of this thread should have been

CDNow is Suck

That's very lame. No wonder they're on the brink of financial collapse. Next time you talk to them, ask them to respond to this issue here on the Forum. I would think that you could dispute any credit card charges that are not for the product you ordered.
