800.com Customer Service: Great, or what?

I had about $900 to spend for a TV, DVD player. So I turn to 800.com. I wanted to get the Toshiba SD1600 and the 27" Wega FS12 (without several inputs and PIP), but that'd be over budget. I instead said I'd probably get the FS12 from Amazon, since they actually carry it, and the total would be around $700. But the CSR offered instead to exclude a shipping charge from the FS16, making the two identical in price. Free TV model upgrade.
