I've only recently started to use Buy, mainly because of coupon availibility. How does Buy apply a coupon when items ship separately? Reel used to apply the whole value to the first item shipped. Dvd Express, when it used to actually offer coupons, would spread the coupon amongst all items so that, if you were to cancel an item, you lost that part of the coupon's value.

How does Buy do it?

I've talked to buy CS many times about this...
When you buy stuff with them using a coupon - they get authorization to charge you for say $24.98... that is all they are authorized to charge you for. So they will ship the first item and charge you regular price plus shipping, then on the second item they have to use whatever they have left to charge you and charge you again. Like the first item is 14.99, so they charge you that plus shipping, then the second item is 14.99, but they can only charge you 10 bux including shipping.

My experience with them has been that they take the entire coupon amount off the first shipments including the shipping cost. For example, I used a 30 off l50 coupon and my first item shipped was for 29 bucks plus shipping, so the charge to my credit card was like 2 and some change. The rest of the items in the order then were charged the full amount. This has also been the case with the 10 off 30 coupons. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of, so keep your hard copy handy.

I believe that you find out/gleam this information from the shipping information detail at the Buy.com site for each of your orders.

I've done this in the past when I was also trying to figure out how they were charging me & my CC. I'm thinking this is a new feature they added during their last site 'make-over'.
