Hivizone has their local (to HK) site up and running now. I noticed that the DVD pricing to HK-based customers is around %15-20 lower than pricing to International customers. Now there's probably nothing wrong with it and if they don't lose sales over it more power to them. But don't you think this is BS? Why would it cost more to sell a DVD to be shipped out International rather than shipped out to local? If there are customs hassles, shouldn't this be reflected in the shipping cost instead? I dunno, seems to me to make more business sense. Especially when places like DDDHouse and DVDShelf are selling at the same 'local' price as Hivizone for ALL customers.

Not to hijack the thread, but people are still happy w/ DDDhouse right I'm putting together another order and there are 2 DVDs DDDhouse doesn't have that I was going to get in the Hivi order. Overall though the order was about $30 cheaper from DDDhouse. If people are still happy with them I think I'll try there.

TIA

BTW I have to agree the price differential between local and international is a joke

Why don't you try ordering of the HK English Version site (since the prices are in HKD) and have your CC company do the conversion. You know, insist you be charged in HKD...

Heck that is what Sazuma does, DDDHouse too I think.

I'm extremely extremely happy with DDDHouse. In fact, I just received a shipment of 21 DVDs from them 15 minutes ago. It was sent out last Wednesday, so it took only 5 business days to get to California. They definitely have a lot of older titles that are not listed on the website, so you probably should send them an email first to check for availability. I know I saved around $65 with this latest shipment by buying from DDDHouse instead of Hivizone. In fact, DDDHouse was so happy with my DVD order they even threw in one free DVD (was only worth $40HK tho). My 2nd shipment with DDDHouse.

If I order from the HK English site, they only ship to HK locations. That's the catch.

I'm just guessing, but maybe either the CC company or their Secure Server provider maybe tacking extra charges for international orders or conversion fees
