My T-2 is on hand at Amazon, as are my copies of Magnolia, Boogie Nights and Sorority House Massacre 2 (don't ask)..and they're all being held up by Evil Dead 2. Luckily my copies of North By Northwest and The Sound of Music shipped yesterday in a separate package.

Got my shipping confirmation yesterday along with Braveheart. As to the theory about GC orders not being a priority... my WHOLE order was paid by GC's.
Also another friend of mine over here in the UK got shipping confirmation yesterday too.

About the GC theory. GC's are money. Someone paid amazon to get them.

Still no confirm on my order which consists of Braveheart, Sound of Music, Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein and North by Northwest.
Unless I have GCs, my preorder business is headed elsewhere in the future... Shame is I still have a slug of future preorders that I will no doubt get very late from them.
Buy.com and DVDEmpire seem to get the stuff to me on time... They will see more biz.
editing to add: seems abbott & costello are holding up the order..

So what exactly is the deal with the preorders over at AMAZON? I have the biggest single shipment of DVDs ive ever ordered ready to ship and nothing has happened. I mean, isnt today supposed to be Judgement Day? Yes, im talking aboout T2: Ultimate Edition, and im waiting Amazon!!! Another side note, someone else mentioned Evil Dead 2: Limited Edition holding his order up. I thought I checked and its supposed to ship in 24 hrs too. Are they out of this DVD already?

Got SLOW "UPS" shipping confirmation on my Braveheart and T2 UE now at 4:00PST. I cant believe all others had received it and had the pleasure of watching these titles over the weekend. I probably will not get it until next week.
I dont understand how Buy.com could ship out and "delivered" these titles 5 days before street date but Amazon can't or won't do that. I am only going to use Amazon with any order paid with GC but all my other cash orders are going to be with Buy.com.

I also preordered T2 on July 8 from Amazon and haven't received a shipping confirmation. It's status is "shipping soon."
However, Magnolia, Boogie Nights, North by Northwest, and Braveheart have been shipped.

Since time of delivery doesn't seem to depend on whether or not you paid using a GC, how about time of placing the preorder?
I placed my preorder for this title in June.
Others who haven't received their copy yet have said they ordered in July.
Looks like I'm gonna wait 1 week before release date the next time I preorder from Amazon.

Well, I preordered back in June and I have squat to show for it right now. I have ordered a ton of stuff from Amazon and this order was for stuff that shipped all on the same day. Now, if there is a delay on the Abbott & Costello title, they should tell me that and why.
I don't NEED most of my preorders on street date, but if I can get them for the same price or less and have them in hand on or before, then those companies will get my business even if it means B&M over the net.
Right now, Buy.com (except for Reel related orders) and DVDEmpire will see a much higher percentage of my business.

Amazon If you can't get with the flow than you won't make much money,Maybe that's why they loss so much this
year.

Called Amazon and asked about the holdup. Apparently, the two main culprits are T2 and Evil Dead 2. According to Amazon, because these two discs were so popular, they're being sent out in a "first come, first served" manner...meaning that the earlier you placed your order, the earlier you'll get your purchase. Mine was placed on the 20th of July. If anyone placed an order for Evil Dead 2 after July 20th and had theirs either shipped or received, well, I guess that would blow Amazon's theory.
