Warning: Amazon

Yesterday, I ordered a cd box set with 1 day delivery. I received an empty, sealed Prime envelope/ I called Amazon. The 1st rep said wrong department & passed my cal to a 2nd rep.She had a very poor command of English. Short version: I requested a replacement & got a refund. The 2nd rep then hung up on me, because i wouldn't leave her positive feedback without confirmation. I called back. A manager told me their system was broken, & a 3 hour gift card refund would take 24 hours. The rep apparently incorrectly stated 3. This is something I really want; I hope they actually do the refund so I can re-order. I have almost 30 minutes into this on the phone; + driving to an Amazon locker in freezing weather. They also wouldn't guarantee that the sale price would still be available tomorrow.

This sort of thing is happening with Amazon much more frequently as of late.

I had a same day delivery delivered today with no issues. It was my first ever Amazon same day delivery. I needed some medical supplies that I couldn't find in stock in any stores in my area, but Amazon had them and delivered them within seven hours of my order. I've always had better luck with online chat than calling on the phone.

Re: Warning: Amazon

I had that empty envelope thing happen a couple months ago as well. I did the online automated chat thing and it asked me if I wanted a refund or a reship. I chose a reship and that one came okay. Annoying, but dealing with it was super easy.

Re: Warning: Amazon

I never use the phone option. I have no intention of ever talking to their support if i don't absolutely have to. Chat is the way to go and I have never been let down. I either get an exchange at no charge, refund/amazon gift credit.

There’s a thread for complaining about Amazon right near the top of this store forum.

Re: Warning: Amazon

I've never had issues with Amazon as far back as I can remember, but I've had two packages disappear en route to my house and the status just shows Carrier Delay Has Occurred. It was a humidifier filter so I could use extras, so I placed another order and got it right away. I left the other one open for a couple weeks and there was no status update during that time so I finally cancelled it and have to wait 3-5 days for a refund. Now I'm dealing with a CD in stock with next day delivery that is stuck in the same Delay status again for 4 days now.

Definitely try the online chat option (which now appears to be powered 100% by AI) before calling in the problem.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

Yeah, I can't remember the last time I called Amazon for a problem. Chat seems more convenient. And the other benefit is that there's a written record of what they promised to fix a problem. Unfortunately, I've had to use the chat history several times in the last few months, as promised credits or refunds did not happen, but it's easier dealing with it on the second contact, because I just tell them to look at the chat history for what I was promised and didn't happen, and I don't have to relitigate the whole issue. They just have to confirm I didn't get the credit or whatever, and then they process it again.

Is there a way to go through all the regional coupons to find out which apply to me? For example I assume I'm "West" but I've never seen a West coupon.

You’re in California , right ? You probably fall under the Southwest coupons.

That one is for 30% off .

That one is for 25% off

Sorry, I borrowed the links from the other site. See if they work for you.

You can still chat with a human. Just tell the chatbot "chat with associate" and then confirm a couple times, and it will connect you with a human.

Not a complaint but I wondered why all of a sudden everything from Amazon was now 2-4 days out. Fire and sprinkler damage at the huge warehouse 20 minutes away. -eek-

Damn. That's a big hit locally on inventory.

Guess you gotta switch to Temu. ;) j/k

 I do not Temu!

They can't reopen until (at least) all the affected sprinkler heads are replaced.

So we should expect to be receiving smoke/fire/water-damaged merchandise from Amazon until all of the material from that warehouse turns around.

That thought crossed my mind as well.

Ooooohhh...

Here's a new one.

Amazon sent me a USED toilet plunger today.

Maybe it's just dirt. But the toilet plunger and brush and combo base and packaging are all separated and the plunger has spots and scuffs on it and the base has grime on it and I don't care if it's just a little dust or dirt because it's a toilet plunger and I don't know where it's been and just no.

No, no, no, no, NO.

Did they let you keep the one with free poop?

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

Absolutely NOT. They sent me a strongly-worded email that if I don't return it immediately they will charge me for it.

*If you don’t send the original item(s) back to Amazon, by this date, you authorize us to charge the original payment method or any other valid payment method in your Amazon account for the item that you are keeping, including applicable taxes and fees.

Now they can sell that poop-covered toilet brush to someone else and share the love.

You have to appreciate that they sent you a used toilet brush covered with shit and act like it's your fault.
