Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

I guess they have their shipping set for a reason helpful to them, I've been lucky enough to get same day delivery on many orders. We must have a of fulfilment centers here. It's rare for an item to take longer than 2 days. At least for the crap I order.

I redeemed a bunch of points on my credit card for amazon e-gift cards yesterday. I ordered four BDs and one CD. Two BDs shipped together by USPS, another order shipped USPS with a BD and a CD and the third was a single BD shipped using amazon. Guess which one is being delayed? Fucking amazon delivery is a joke.

Oh jeez....here it is 4:11 PM local time and my Amazon order, Arriving today by 10 PM, still isn't showing out for delivery.

Yes they have a local Distribution center/warehouse or whatever but still I really "need", OK want, my item today so I can complete a project over the Holiday.

This is the first time my stuff doesn't show out for delivery at least by mid-morning on day of delivery. Now I'm waiting for some "delivery Exception" or something and wait until Wednesday.

Yep, finally showed up today mid-morning. They did inform me after 5 pm on original day of delivery of the delay,.

My order, from yesterday, was given an ETA from 3-5pm, and arrived at 3:35.

I didn't like that they left it on top of the half wall on my porch, where it's highly visible to a potential porch pirate.

It was also out in the sun, and it's close to 90, today. Fortunately, it wasn't chocolate or anything particularly heat sensitive.

They didn't ring the doorbell, or knock, but that's the case with about 95% of deliveries, these days.

Okay, this is really annoying. I ordered the 4K UHD disc of The Patriot (Mel Gibson) on June 30th. I was supposed to get it last week and now it's stuck in a 1 month delay until August 1-3. WTF?

It's being sold through a 3rd party seller, but it's Prime eligible. I ordered it for $15.80, but now it's gone up to over $18. It says on the site it's "In stock" So I'm puzzled by the long delay. Anyone experience this?

I don't want to cancel and re-order as I'll have to pay $3+ more.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

^When I see something like that, I go through the process of ordering, but don't check out. That way I can see if the delivery date is better, and if it's through a 3rd party seller, I would contact them and ask why.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

I've noticed that if the Amazon order page/email says that an item will arrive by 10P.M., I won't get it that day. It'll come the next day and I'll get an update email with a message about a problem in shipping or at the facility.

I dropped a short note to the seller asking why is there a 1 month delay when it says the product is in stock? I hope they have an answer that makes sense.

It's the same 3rd party seller that had it at both $15.80 and now $18+?

I actually don’t know. I didn’t pay attention. I just looked at my order and it says sold by Amazon.com services LLC. Could it be that I actually ordered it from Amazon directly and now it’s back ordered?

Yes, if it says "Sold by: Amazon.com Services LLC" then that means you bought it directly from Amazon. If they sell through the stock they have on-hand, they'll continue to sell stock they have on-order with an expected arrival date in their warehouse. That's the stage that you've ordered at.

I'm not sure about your claim that it was supposed to come last week, and then got a 1 month delay. Amazon usually doesn't misjudge their inventory and delivery dates that badly. I suggest that you go back and look at your original order confirmation email. It will have the expected delivery date listed in the email at the time that you placed your order. I suspect that it says August 1 or whatever.

Ordered something Saturday night. Email confirmation came in at 10:05 PM. They claimed it would arrive Sunday. Sunday morning comes and there is an email saying the item shipped at 3:16 AM with expected delivery on Sunday by the dreaded 10 PM. I thought for sure it wouldn't show up sunday and would be pushed back a day. Delivery email, with photo confirmation, arrived at 3:48 Sunday.

No, I’m 100% sure it was supposed to come last week. It said it on the email. I got a follow up email after it missed the window that said it was delayed until August.

Ah, yes, well then, if you got the emails saying that, then yes, it sounds like they misjudged the inventory, which is unusual. Once you actually receive the item, I'd start a customer service chat, and tell them that you were originally supposed to get the item in July, but it was delayed a month until August, and that you were wondering if you could get a credit for the inconvenience. They'll usually offer you a $5 courtesy credit.

Ordered 2 in-stock items yesterday (sold/shipped by amazon, not 3rd party), and before I clicked the "purchase" button, it said that my order will arrive next week on July 24. After I clicked the button, the date immediately changed to August 3 almost ten days later that initially promised.
What a bunch of bullshit!

Did you let it default to that later shipping date which has everything ship together and gives you a small digital credit?

The initial arrival date was given to me after I had selected shipping, right before I clicked "buy", then it changed after that.

Amazon probably just needed extra time to make sure they really damaged the items before shipping them out.

Now that you mentioned this I'm on my second order that showed this. The first followed your experience and was delayed a day. The latest is now showing "Delayed" and the Original Wednesday delivery, by Amazon based on the tracking number, now says if not received today, come back tomorrow and request a refund.

since I moved to NH my prime has gone from 3 days to 4-5 not including weekends as that. Something my wife ordered on Prime on Tuesday is due to get here on Monday. I posted in town on the FB page and it seems most people have the same issue of minimum delivery times of 4 days plus. I'm done with Amazon with this crap at least as far as Prime membership goes. Im better off driving 10 minutes to Walmart and paying the same price. Sucks they have a monopoly now and can get away with this crap and I know "super Walmart" is not any better but at least I can have stuff the same day or week. :(

Yep. Amazon opened a huge fulfillment center about 15 miles from where I live and ever since then (see some of my earlier posts) if the item I ordered is NOT in that center, I have to wait forever to get it, as it needs to go to that center first and then get shipped out to me (for whatever reason, they can't just ship it to me from a center where it is in stock). So back when they only had a couple of such places around the country, I would get everything in two to three days. Now I'm lucky to get any books or movies within a week (especially new releases that I book far in advance)...other stuff like basic drug store items and the like is the only thing that seems to come quickly.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

Ordered a CD two days ago with a delivery date of today. The order page shows it shipped with USPS but the tracking number is the kind used for UPS but it isn't clickable on amazon's site. I entered the number on the USPS, UPS and FED EX sites and they all show the number as invalid. It still shows that it will be delivered by 9PM today. I already got my mail and it wasn't in it. I only ordered the CD from amazon because I had points on my credit card to ge an e-gift card. This reminds me why I stopped shopping with amazon.

Now that Prime day has passed, Amazon's reliability dips for a long while until November when the Christmas shopping begins ramping up. The worst period to order something from Amazon is after Prime day through Labor Day.
