Blockbuster & Lionsgate delays?

Granted I shouldn't complain much because I got a 6-month free trial, but what's the deal with Blockbuster Video & Lionsgate. Every release (probably with the exception of The Hunger Games) has been late by at least a day in their stores.

The wife wanted to see What To Expect When Your Expecting -- not there on day one (not that I cared too much about that one). Went into grab The Cabin in The Woods today and, sure enough, they also hadn't gotten it in.

So I went to Redbox to get it (sad when Redbox beats you to it).

I searched and couldn't find any stories about issues between BV and Lionsgate, although I'm sure like other companies, they may be behind in payments to them.

I've gone from like 10 Blockbusters to 2 and both require a decent drive to get to. I never would have signed up for Total Access with the distance now an issue it I hadn't gotten the 6-month freebie offer. Blockbuster and Dish have made some decent decisions in pricing their rentals, but have failed miserably when it comes to chosing which stores to close (the two I used to go to were on the busiest street in Greenville, SC). And now, they still have distribution issues?

I honestly thought by now BV would be gone completely and am surprised to see Dish trying to keep their existing stores open. But with delayed releases and way fewer stores, I don't see how they'll be around much longer.

Why is Dish bothering with the B&M stores? Are they really helping to sell Dish all that much (the initial thought behind keeping them as a selling point for their main product)?

I think Dish would be better off spending time not losing things like AMC and less on trying to run a chain that isn't spinning on all cylinders.
