I ordered an item a few weeks ago and their website said- 1-3 weeks. Now its saying they will email when in stock. How long do they wait till they cancel the backorder? I tried cancelling but couldn't because it was part of a free shipping order.

why don't you just contact amazon?

I've noticed more and more stuff on back order wonder whats going on???

If you can't cancel-there isn't another option except wait till they cancel because they can't stock the item. I might be able to substitute the item,but not sure on their policy,thats why I asked the question.

Just read at their website-available Oct. 1st-so I guess I will have to wait.

Several years ago I ordered an import CD through Amazon that was listed to ship within two to three weeks. After about two months, Amazon notified me that the item was unattainable and they canceled my order. I ended up ordering it from an Amazon vendor instead. The CD was actually priced lower by the vendor and arrived just two days later.
