I made an order of two dvds with free super saver shipping on Amazon and was surprised when one of them arrived by A-1 Courier Services. Is this common?

I checked the tracking, and it was picked up and delivered by the courier on the same day, which was two days after I made the order. I guess there is a warehouse in the area. The other dvd in the order is still in transit by USPS from another state.

I think Barnesandnoble.com used to do this or may still if you live in new york city. I haven't seen amazon do it though.

I've signed for a few amazon.com packages delivered by A-1 here in NYC.
