I don't think anybody thought you were trying to be a smart-ass. You just made a newbie mistake/post, and people here can be pretty unforgiving about that.

I know you're not really a newbie, based on your status of "Member," but if you read these forums for a while, you will see the pattern of DD questions and responses.

Also, people get pretty emotional over DD because of both actual and perceived offenses, and because people believe in conspiracies, and because DD has done some questionable things in the past, and because the past is often viewed through rose-colored glasses, and because people have become jaded from other deals/glitches/super-bargains, etc., etc., etc.. DD just seems to take the brunt of most criticism, deserved or not.
