Q: DeepDiscount Shipping
As stated in their shipping info page: "Canadian Exception: We ship orders to Canada via USPS for our standard charge of $5.95."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but does the standard charge implies a flat rate? I mean, if I were to place a $100 order, would the shipping cost me $5.95 (flat for any size order) or $12.95 (the going rate of international shipping for that order size)?
I sent an inquiry but haven't heard back from them in 24 hours. TIA for any input.

DeepDiscount has a flat rate of $5.95 to Canada, no matter the size of the order.

Not anymore. I don't know if it just changed, but I had 4 HDs in my cart, and shipping now shows as $12.95, instead of the $5.95 that I am sure that I saw yesterday. Here is what the site says now:
International Shipments - Including Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands
Order Total Shipping Charge
Up to $25.00 $5.95
$25.01 - $50.00 $8.95
$50.01 - $100.00 $12.95
$100.01 to $150.00 $16.95
$150.01 to $200.00 $23.95
$200.01 to $250.00 $29.95
$250.01 to $300.00 $37.95
More than $300.00 $99.95

Must have just changed, because I placed an order of 5 items a few weeks ago and was charged the flat rate. Hmmm, so much for the DDD advantage. Now it's no better than any of the others.

Yup, they just lost my order since it is cheaper for me to go through Amazon.com now. I am getting some HD DVDs, so I still get the 10% discount, I don't get hit with customs, and the exchange rate is pretty good.

Yep, I had a huge order planned but the new shipping is outrageous. Good bye DDD sale, I shall miss thee.
How does Amazon.com work anyways? Do you have to pay x amount plus an amount per item? I could never understand their ways.

Question to DeepDiscount - if anyone working there is reading these forums :
Why are international customers getting so SCREWED on these shipping rates ???
Why are any promos - such as Buy 1 Get 1 Free - having the totals of ALL the items added up to determine shipping costs - and then apply the discount rate ???
The 'current' B1G1 of Criterions has - if purchasing 4 $32.96 titles - coming with shipping to Australia at $16.95.
4 DVDS for $16.95 - THIS IS DEARER THAN AMAZON !!!!
International customer's appreciate that there is a COST involved in shipping - however why do we get screwed over whilst others get something for 'free' ?? (ie US purchasers).

What are you talking about? 4 DVDs from Australia to the US from ezyDVD cost me $21.00 AUS. So what is wrong with $16.95? The exchange rate is almost even. Have you ever ordered from Germany? You should look at those shipping rates.
