Isn't it about time Netflix started working on Saturday?

I could forgive it the first couple of years, but c'mon, they are now a pretty large operation and there's mail service on Saturdays. Really getting harder to excuse not receiving/shipping discs on Saturdays. I'm sure they don't want to pay anybody and would claim they'd have to raise prices--blah blah blah. If they want to stay at the top this would be a nice step to take.

In the grand scheme of things it's hardly a big deal...I already have more movies than I can watch anyway, but I just find it odd that they still do nothing on Saturdays.

Yeah. I think they should too. They probably save a ton of scratch not shipping on Saturday.

I'd love it if they did. It would be nice to mail movies back on Friday and get new ones on Monday as opposed to Tuesdays.

The only reason I could understand not working Saturdays is if the ownership is orthodox in their Jewish faith (if they are Jewish, I don't know, but being of that faith myself this is my take on a possibility anyway) they might run their business in such a way that honors their faith as well. I've known business owners who, although the majority of their staff is not Jewish, will close shop on Sabbath & Jewish holidays, even going so far as to tell staff not to bring in food with leavening during the week of Passover. (they certainly can eat while out at lunch, but stuff inside the business has to be Kosher for Passover during that week.)

So, perhaps the folks at NetFlix take off for the Sabbath ?

eh, it's a thought anyway.

I don't think Blockbuster ships on Saturday either (and they also tell you not to hold your breath on a Monday shipment either) so I don't see much incentive for Netflix to do so. It's probably a significant cost increase, and it doesn't seem like it'll cause that many people to switch, at least not the kind of customers that they can make the most money off of.

Are you prepared to pay 20% more on your monthly fee for this to happen?

Once again, Groucho is the reasonable mind here. BKenn is right too. It's a business decision and would cost you more.
