New Netflix DVD Label problems

I just got Dexter disc 2 and 3 today and when playing them on my 2 dvd players or my PC it will not play. You can hear the player make a gobbling screeching sound when trying to play these. I called them up and was surprised to see now they offer 24 hour phone support and actually got someone on the phone within 1 minute. They had advised me that it was a test run they were doing and some of the new discs will have the stickers on both sides.

Has anyone else run into this problem yet?

Here is a link to a picture of the new label

Weird, I haven't seen that yet on any of my Netflix rentals. I just sent some stuff back today so maybe Monday I will get something.

Yup, I had the problem with Discs 1 and 2 of Dexter as well. If they'd put the sticker on the front, it'd probably be fine. Putting it on both sides throws off the way the disc spins and makes it tough for some players and dvd drives to play them. Check this site...

Personally, I removed the stickers from the back of the disc. If they ask any questions, I know nothing.

Yup thats where I got the picture from. Did you have a hard time taking off the stickers? They seem pretty glued onto the disc tightly.

They were pretty tough to get off. I used a box cutter and went VERY slowly so as not to damage the disc or cut myself. The first disc left behind quite a bit of residue but I managed to get most of it off on the second disc.

I've had them on a couple of DVDs and haven't had any problems so far (on a computer DVD player as well).

Mod note: BTW moving to the proper forum...

Stickers? How am I going to "exchange" all my old defective dvds now?

Perfect Stranger had the sticker, but Fracture did not.

Are they just adding stickers to DVDs that they aren't going to sell? I just don't want to buy a previously viewed DVD from them with their sticker on the disc. I hate the one's with Blockbuster on there. Yeah, it doesn't effect the movie but kind of bugs me...

It is just a testing phase from what I was told when I called in so hopefully it does not carry over for all the discs from now on
