Buying Different Region DVDs

These are both US-based and sell Region 2:

HKFlix is based in California, but they sell mostly asian stuff (R3). I'm pretty sure they have some Region 2.

I have ordered from all 3 of these and can vouch for their legitimacy. None of it is usually cheap though. These are all "specialty" dealers, too. I'm not sure of any that have mainstream movies and I don't recall ever seeing R4 on any of them.
There's also a "sticky" thread on the International Forum that has some good information:

Best place to buy other region DVDs is from other regions. If you're worried about getting ripped off, use Amazon. They have sites all over the country. Their prices are pretty decent, too.

SOmetimes, if you're buying just one DVD from one country, it's easier and cost efficient to go to guys like Diabolik and Luminous. This is especially true of German releases which incur a high shipping charge (courtesey of the Deutschebundespost).
BTW, I have ordered successfully from both of the domestic suppliers and things went smoothly.

I've always stayed away from buying dvds from like the UK and Aus, because i've read about the high fees you pay besides shipping. Thats why I asked about buying them in the states. Figured they would be cheaper then to mess with buying from UK or Aus. I figure its like a tariff, the extra charge. *shrugs*

Generally speaking, Americans receiving orders from overseas will not have to pay customs fees unless the product total is US$200+. Other than shipping and the increasingly scary state of the US$, the only fee you may encounter is ~3% from your credit card for currency exchange. Order from a site that removes VAT/GST for overseas customers and you'll pay even less.
