Amazon - taking their sweet time shipping

It appears that Amazon hasn't even considered shipping Buffy Season 7.
Usually items I order are shipped the day before or at worst, on the day of release. Not this time. Yeah, they do warn that free shipping will take longer but it never has before.
Anyone else?

Yeah, sometimes with free shipping things I order ship right away, other times it's been well over a week even though my order was in stock.

My Buffy 7 set entered the shipping soon stage today. It will probably ship by tomorrow and hopefully I'll have it for the weekend. Amazon usually ships things out the Monday before the release date, but they seem to be slow with Buffy.

It's been this way a couple of months now, I griped about it in an earlier thread which I won't bother looking up. Basically the consensus boiled down to "don't complain, it's free, and jeff bezos loves you very much."

I ordered my Buffy season 7 on Monday night. Amazon shows it shipped out Tuesday night. I should see it by Friday.

Yeah, they weren't as quick with my Buffy 7 as they were with my SW trilogy, which arrived on release day. I still got Buffy Thursday, though, which was okay.

Mine just shipped (Thursday) so no chance at all for the weekend. Hope this isn't a trend.

Glad I did a search as I was getting ready to post about the exact same problem.

For me it depends on which warehouse it ships from. If it ships from their Coffeyville warehouse I have it next day, if it's from another location it usually takes 6-7 days.

It took my Buffy s7 8 days to get here, but my Smallville s3 made it in a day.

I know what you mean. If it ships from Coffeyville Kansas it gets here in a day. Oddly, nearly everything I buy ships from Kentucky?? Go figure.

Have any of you had/having problems with Amazon taking over a week to ship goods that are in stock? I just cancelled my order because it was taking so damn long! It's been a while since I've used Amazon(been going to Walmart) but this is a first time for me. They used to be rapid fast, put in an order and it would ship that day.

It seems like Amazon is ending free shipping on a lot of their non media items. I was about to buy some logitech speakers today and I noticed that Amazon just raised the price of shipping to $25. Arghh.

I placed a couple of orders for items that are in stock at Amazon (and they say if I pay thru the nose I can get it next day) yet for the 'free' shipping they are saying they aren't going to ship the product out for a week, with no explanation.

This is an old thread so I guess this has been going on for a while, but it hasn't happened to me before. It will definitely make me think twice about using them in the future. It certainly is not going to strongarm me into paying $80 for Prime, especially since they think it's OK to use DHL with Prime.

If you're going by the estimated shipping date, I find that Amazon always ships well before that date. It's just an estimate.

This has happened to me a couple of times in the past. Amazon's shipping seems to really be hit-or-miss. Sometimes I'll receive the item earlier than they estimate and other times, I'll get at the tail end of their estimation. Seems to be a crapshoot.

Well, I got a shipping notice on the 23rd for some in-stock books I ordered back on the 18th, and as of this morning (at least according to my tracking info) the shipment is still waiting to be picked up by USPS. So my guess is I'll be lucky to see this shipment by the end of this week. I did get Harry Potter on time, though.

Does this happen only on free shipping or standard too?

In my experience, Amazon sits on the free shipping items, but will ship them right away if it's standard shipping.

Considering their estimates say 5-9 days for free shipping and I've never received anything that took longer than 9 days, I can't complain.

If I'd wanted it sooner I would have paid for it.

They're making Prime worse too. Ive been a member for about a year, they always sent it 2 day ( i order 1-2 a week) and I almost always got it the very next day. Within the past 3 weeks they have sent every order that's been larger than 1 small item ground so now it never gets here next day and sometimes takes up to 4. I emailed them to complain that I'm paying for 2 day shipping and all they said is that they send stuff via a shipping method that they "estimate" will only take 2 days.

Guess I'm not renewing my subscription.

That's bullshit. I'd write them back and say I'm not paying for "estimated" 2-day shipping and ask for a refund of the rest of my Prime membership.

Yeah the DHL thing was bad enough, but that is outrageous.
