Just because the site says an order's been closed or cancelled doesn't necessarily mean it's true. Lots of work still being done, and lots more to do. I wouldn't trust anything the site says right now.

Just wait till the pre-order comes out and buy it at a B&M and send it back for a refund.

I had one order processing during the change-over that was listed as "closed" once the new site was up. Later that day I received a 'shipped' e-mail. Oh, and the order total was around $800,000. I also had access to someone else's order....

Dave,

Congrats on the site change.

We are currently ramping up for our own site upgrade in the next month or so, and I can see all of the problems that you might run into during your site upgrade.

It probably means that you won't get any sleep until next weekend, but it looks like the site is going to be much better for you and your customers.

I will likely get in contact with you directly soon to get some feedback on what you are running into. Our site launch is definitely going to have similar issues to your upgrade, and any comments on what you are experiencing is appreciated.

Does anyone have an order from the former site that does not show up on the new site? I placed an order late night 2/6 (for which I received an e-mail confirmation with order number). However, when I log into the new site, it shows no recent orders, although my address information and such is there. A look at my credit card log shows no charges for it.

I have made several orders in 2007 on the old DDD site and none of them are showing the last time I looked on the new DD site. It appears all my 2006 completed orders are showing up.

Now my old orders which were transferred from the old site appear to have huge issues, in that the subtotals show "$466,620" for the loop season 1 (should be $14.64...).

Wow...

New site looks nicer. I'll wait a few days till everything gets ironed out before placing an order.

My complete order history is there (and all amounts are correct), including a set I ordered about 2 weeks ago. The only thing missing is my wishlist. It only had about 10-15 discs, so it's not a big deal for me...

Sir Dave, someone asked a few pages back about shipping to Canada. Just in case you missed that post, I'm asking here. Does free shipping apply to destinations in Canada (like it did on DDD.ca)?
Thanks a lot. I've enjoyed doing business with DDD in the past.

To David Barker of Deep Discount DVD:

I just want to post an observation regarding the DVD images. When I click ZOOM image, the photo is still the same size. Maybe you can fix that so the photo/image becomes larger.

Please have an ADVANCED SEARCH OPTION for DVDs, CDs, and Books.

I'll give an example for DVDs: Hope you can provide us with an an advanced search option wherein we can search by:

DATE OF RELEASE (for example I want to search for DVDs released from January 2003 up to December 2005 only)
So that would be: RELEASE DATE FROM: (YEAR in drop down menu) (MONTH in drop down menu) TO (YEAR in drop down menu) (MONTH in drop down menu)

TITLE

ACTOR/DIRECTOR

STUDIO

GENRE

and more options, just check amazon's advanced search options.

here's a sample of a power search that is very helpful:

I was hoping the same thing, but unfortunately, if you try, you get the same old $5.95 shipping for Canada. It's too bad DDD.ca didn't work out, as that made some of their prices worthwhile. The only Canadian site I know with free shipping now is cdplus.com. Of course, Amazon and Chapters are free for orders over $39, but it was nice to be able to order a $10 or $20 disc with no shipping charges.

Hey! I got an email from DD today. Subject line of "Welcome to DeepDiscount.com!"
Great! I thought. Maybe its a 20% off sale.

Nope. It's totally blank. Good job! What a impressive display of marketing prowess, really builds confidence. I guess it isn't any worse than Wal-Mart.

Is there any way to "zero out" the quantities on your wishlist so you can delete multiple items at once? I don't plan on having much overlap again (I had started a new list in the meantime), but it'd be helpful when paring down a list for the 20% sales.

I'm not sure if I'll continue ordering from them. Their prices can't be beat but I ordered 10 items the other day - 4 were cancelled, 3 are on backorder, and 3 were actually sent.

If they need to cancel items then they should just be removed from the website.

I wanted to check and see if my wishlist is back but I can't access my wishlist anymore...I keep getting the message "Unable to process your request".

Hopefully this is temporary.
