I'm glad I placed my order within the 1st few minutes of the sale. I now see price increases for the John Wayne, John Ford Collection along with the Film Noir, V.3 and the Warner Gangsters Collection. They all increased by a couple of dollars at least.

Nothing I ordered went down. It's not the end of the world, and I still got good deals (I look everything up before I buy it, which is partly why it took me a while to place my order), but it does take some of the fun out of it.

There are two HBO shows I wanted that they raised the prices on, Carnivale season two and Big Love season one. They are both priced at 74.99 now but before the sale they were 71.86 and 64.77, respectively. Taking 20% off of 64.77 for Big Love would have made it a real good price, but not so much now.

Sopranos season 6 Part 1 was 63.17 before the sale and is now 62.89.

Living Dead

Every single item on my list went up except for a couple Criterions... anywhere from 10 cents to a couple dollars. All the sets, nearly all the singles. All told, I believe I'll be spending about $20 more than i would have if they'd left them alone.

I was also annoyed to find that the main item I wanted to buy, The Twilight Zone Complete Definitieve Collection, has inexplicably changed to a pre-order that is to be released 11/14... even though it's already been out for a month. So now I have to wait 4 days to place my order in order for it to be part of the discount.

It kind of sucks... if you're going to run a sale, then run a sale. But don't screw people by raising the prices right before you put the item on sale. That said, I'll be buying them anyway, because even at the new prices, they're still cheaper than everyone else.

People like me are the reason they continue to do this, I suppose.

Maybe its being released again with decent packaging this time. I got the set when it first came out and the packaging was total crap and I replaced it with double slim cases at my cost.

Then again it might just be when they expect more in with the total crap packaging as 11/14 would only be this Tuesday.
